Cleveland has the payroll room to make a pretty decent-sized FA splash if they wanted to.  But, given how the team normally operates, I'd suspect a trade is likelier.

Really, the Guardians have enough OF needs that they should both sign someone *and* swing a trade.

Does Bo stay at SS? Does Vlad stay at 1B?
Mark P
6:40
Both made some nice steps forward on defense in 2021, with Bichette getting notably better even as the season went on.  I think Toronto is comfortable with the duo as a shortstop/first base combo going forward.

What's your view of the newly released top 100 players of all time? I'm not a fan!!
Mark P
6:45
Some of the placements were really ludicrous, but I didn't have a huge problem with the list in general
Bryant
6:46
Do I make sense for the angels
Mark P
6:47
LA has a bigger need for pitching, and as versatile as Bryant is, the Angels are actually pretty set at this positions (with Rendon, Walsh, Trout, Adell, Marsh, whatever Upton has left)

Sorry Seattle!  At least I like your ballpark?
Ammiel
6:49
so do you think the Giants replace Posey's bat with any significant signing/acquisition?
Mark P
6:50
I do think the Giants have a big position-player move still to come, since they have a need and plenty of money to spend.
Nationals fan

Would signing Kris Bryant make sense for the Nats?  We need protection in the lineup for Soto and Kieboom is not inspiring confidence.
Mark P
6:51
Bryant is a better fit in Washington, but in the Nats' case, I'm not sure if they're actually going to be contending in 2022 or taking a year to reload
Al Avila
6:53
If Tigers could sign Grienke and IF they could sign Conforto, would they be your favorite for the AL-Cent?
Mark P
6:54
Both players would help, but I'm not sure if it would be quite enough for me to put Detroit atop the prediction list.  Conforto didn't exactly impress in 2021, after all

How does MLB determine the ASG host? Loose rotation, or do teams apply?
Mark P
6:54
I think any team can apply, but there's been a general trend towards giving the ASG to cities with recently-built new ballparks.

What's the deal with Kwang Hyun Kim? I know he signed a 2 year deal with the Cards and pitched well, but now he's a free agent? Shouldn't be be arb eligible?
Mark P
6:56
Kim had a stipulation in his contract allowing him to become a free agent at the end of the deal, rather than be arb-eligible
B. Lowe
6:58
Would the Rays trade me? Lot of talent coming up, I have a great contract
Mark P
6:58
Tampa is generally open to dealing anyone at any time, so a Lowe deal wouldn't surprise me at all.  It's unlikely, but not implausible

Contreras for Weathers and Campusano… who says no?!
Mark P
6:59
Padres aren't giving up that much for one year of Contreras
