A big left-handed bat, a good bullpen arm or two, and I'm still pretty wary of their rotation depth.

We are all getting elected to the HOF by the Todays Gamd Committee end of this year right?

That's no guarantee, considering that the next ballot will be absolutely stacked with names.  With all the competition, it's possible nobody gets the 12 of 16 votes.

So if Cubbie Fan is asking about the Yanks, then I can certainly ask about the Cubs. Does Brennan play center in MLB? Or is he more of a corner putfielder?
Mark P

The Cubs like him as a center fielder of the future, and the scouts seem to think he has a decent chance to stick in CF

That's a good one.  I believe that was the first home run ever hit by a pitcher in WS play.

Which blue do we see Kershaw in, Dodgers or Rangers? Or do we see him wearing a blue polo playing golf somewhere retired?
Mark P

You wonder if the lockout and the uncertainty over the season is factoring into Kershaw's decision-making.  It might make him less apt to jump into a totally new situation with the Rangers, or perhaps even more likely to just decide to walk away from playing.
Big trade

Contreras to NYY for Gallo (Yankees get catcher, Cubs get lefty power. Easier for the Cubs to flip Gallo mid-season if necessary. Very similar career and 2021 WAR)

Would Sanchez just be the backup C in that scenario?  And would the Yankees feel comfortable in moving Gallo, or would they just get another outfielder as protection against Hicks (or Judge or Stanton) getting hurt again?

We've hit the two-hour mark, so time to wrap it up.  Even with the later start, we still had just about the same number of questions as usual in the queue, so thanks very much!

fyi, if you're interested in more baseball Q&A, one of the many benefits of our Trade Rumors Front Office subscription is the exclusive weekly live chats. The more limited field means you're about 10 times more likely to get a question answered, as opposed to battling for space with over a thousand other questions in today's chat. For more on our memberships, check out this link:
