Havent been able to keep up with it this year but who seems to be the favorite to be the 1st pick this year
Mark P
10:21
Since the Orioles have the first pick, it's hard to say, since they might opt for a more signable below-slot player, as per their usual tactic of spreading around their bonus pool money.

So the O's might draft someone 1-1 who is maybe ranked closer to 6th or 7th by most evaluators.  In terms of pure ability, Druw Jones seems to be considered by most to be the draft's best player, but he isn't a total consensus choice

Could Andres Gimenez make the AL All Star roster this season? Maybe even started at 2B?
Mark P
10:23
I doubt he's enough of a name to win a fan vote, and making the team could also be a reach since there are so many other good middle infielders.

With the caveat that he is outperforming his metrics, it's still been a heck of a season for Gimenez.

When Pasquantino?  In almost any other org, Santana has been DFA'ed.
Mark P
10:27
With over two months in the books, Santana seems like a lost cause for KC.  It's a lot of money for the team to just eat, but he simply isn't showing any kind of rebound potential

Will Mike Trout ever get a another hit?
Mark P
10:27
Hot take: yes
10:28
Checking in on that "more disappointing team" poll, and it's almost an even split.  Mariners have 51 percent of the vote, Angels have 49

At what point do you see the Brewers releasing Lorenzo Cain.....he's been horrible.
Mark P
10:32
Cain is in the last year of his contract, and he is still providing excellent defense.  He's enough of a respected veteran that I can see the Brewers keeping him as a glorified backup outfielder, able to contribute with the glove and the rare pinch-hit appearance.

But, that could also hinge on how Renfroe performs when he gets back, if Taylor can be an everyday player, or if Yelich or Cutch
Arraez and Grind
10:34
Luis Arraez is a refreshing player to watch. Old school type hitter that hits the ball anywhere and doesn't try to just walk and hit dingers
Mark P
10:35
What a find he has been for the Twins.  Between his bat and his versatility, Arraez is the kind of player every team would love to have
Gallo
10:35
Am I trade worthy?
Mark P
10:36
Whole lot of Joey Gallo trade proposals in the chat today, many of which seem to overlook that Gallo's trade value is next to nil at this point.  Unless it's a bad-contract swap or the Yankees eat some money, Gallo isn't much of a trade asset.

What lefthanded hitters do you see the Blue Jays targeting before the deadline?
Mark P
10:39
It's a tricky decision for the Jays, since with Kirk now deservedly getting a lot of DH at-bats, who do you displace for that left-handed bat?  Espinal and Gurriel are probably the weakest links on paper, but Espinal has played really well and the streaky Gurriel hasn't hit one of his hot stretches yet.

Maybe you put Kirk into more regular catching duty and trade Jansen, but then again, Jansen has also been hitting well in his own right.

Matt Olson is hardly the reason the Braves have been off to a slow start
