Still not on waivers. 10 days of DFA limbo.

Do the Indians stand pat in the outfield and hope Michael B. does fine or do they trade for a bat? If so, who makes sense given their budget/prospects?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
I think they need to get the pieces and go. Whether that's promoting the young guns or getting a big bat, now's the time.
Chris
3:01
Can the Padres build around Wil Myers>
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
Need more than just that. He's not Mike Trout, and even Mike Trout isn't enough by himself.
Eric
3:01
Have you been watching Glasnow's start? What do you think so far?
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
No, because I'm talking to you!
Nick
3:02
Honestly, where do you see the Twins in 2017?
Jeffrey Todd
3:03
Well if young players develop in the right direction, there's talent there. But I have a hard time seeing contention. Wasn't too bullish on them coming into this year.
Mike Rizzo
3:03
More of a chance I end up with Jay Bruce, Chapman, or someone else?
Jeffrey Todd
3:03
Reliever most likely.
3:04
another Harvey perspective ...
@MarcCarig
So, Matt Harvey is essentially facing a surgery in which the outcomes range from guys coming back to guys ending their careers.
3:05
Remember, this condition -- depending on severity -- can pretty much knock a guy down.
We don't know, but it's pretty scary.

Is it just me, or does Altuve get overshadowed in the "Best Player In Baseball" talk?
Jeffrey Todd
3:05
Well, that's not hard when he's standing next to dudes who are so much taller.

Gavin
3:06
Does the Harvey news put the Mets in the market for a starting pitcher?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Verrett is a nice swingman. Wheeler doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon, but you could do a lot worse for a 5th. Maybe a depth add?
Coors Field Guy

Do I start with a Rio marg or a 90 Shilling before the game tonight?
Jeffrey Todd
3:08
Neither. Go find a better beer. Love Odell, but not that one!
Todd
3:08
Yulieski Gurriel , where, when and how much$?
Jeffrey Todd
3:09
Don't have a good sense of where. No really clear fit. But bucks ... I'll guess 4/52.

Is there any kind of insurance plan (such as recouping some $ or a int'l slot) for issues like ARZ is having with Yoan Lopez or does this just add to what most people thought was a bad signing?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
MLB contracts obv have insurance policies from time to time. Can't fathom how an ins co would underwrite a deal with a teenager.

Is Morneau the big bat W Sox need?
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
Solid piece, maybe. Would be surprised if he mashes.

What does it take for me to get Ervin Santana and Kintzler/or other reliever? Without giving up Gallo/Profar/Brinson/Mendez/Ortiz/Guzman? Sorry I'm one of those prospect lovers
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
Santana/Kintzler won't require a big-time prospect. Just take on a good chunk of cash and kick in an interesting lower-level guy.
Braves guy
3:13
Fill in the blank. The Braves trading Shelby Miller to the Diamondbacks is the most lopsided trade since______________.
Jeffrey Todd
3:13
sliced bread?
3:14
Dunno, my brain doesn't have decades of deals downloaded. But it looked bad and has been worse.

Is thoracic outlet syndrome the new TJS? In the earlier write-up about Harvey, it said it can be extremely painful, but that Phil Hughes had been pitching with it for years. So Hughes had extreme pain in his shoulder for years and never said anything?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
He was diagnosed but pitched through it. Varies case by case.
Matt Harrison an extreme example in other direction.
