Fair question. But generally, Rox always come up with bats. Maybe you let them reach peak value and flip for arms?
Dirk diggler
2:41
Better chance of getting dealt this month. Lucroy or Braun?
Jeffrey Todd
2:41
I'll still say Lucroy.
2:42
@jakemkaplan
Astros OF prospect Daz Cameron was diagnosed with a broken left pointer finger and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Not too big a deal, but notable.

Delino Deshields Jr--bounce back or waiver claim?
Jeffrey Todd
2:42
No reason to take him off 40-man. If nothing else, heck of a nice expanded-roster piece for them to have.
Trog
2:42
Compare Cole, Taillon, Glasnow and Kuhl to the Mets rotation.
Jeffrey Todd
2:43
One has lots of promise, the other has lots of fully realized, amazing MLB arms. (Even with Harvey's woes.)
Latter scenario is pretty rare.
Coppy

Has Vizzy destroyed his trade value after the last few outings)
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
Doesn't help. I'm going to take a closer look for the trade candidate ranking series, but anything short of peak performance levels will raise some questions and could lead ATL to hold.
Apparently typing a lot makes jotcast really slow. Sorry.
Shorter answers here on out.

Do the Astros get anybody significant at the deadline
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
More likely they add supplemental pieces, IMO.
Alex
2:46
Mariners going to make a strong push for playoffs, a Dipito-type push, or no push at all before the deaadline?
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
A realistic, measured push that requires good value to make deals. Is that a Dipoto push?
sk
2:47
Do the Rangers place too much value on Joey Gallo? I view him as a Mark Trumbo type major leaguer; Modest Average, Hulk-ian power
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
We don't know yet, though. Newfound plate discipline is very encouraging. Big ceiling -- which Trumbo helps show. When he's on, look out.
WHOA
@AnthonyDiComo
Matt Harvey has been diagnosed with "symptoms consistent with thoracic outlet syndrome" and is considering season-ending surgery. #Mets
2:49
Still undecided though ...
2:51
So that's huge news.
Sorry, had to write it up quick.

Would the Rays trade Odorizzi to the Red Sox?
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
I'm sure they would, but Silverman has said the price goes up in division.
sk
2:53
Do the Astros cry every time Kris Bryant steps to the plate
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Yeah that was a miss.

John Coppolella is said to "covet" Wil Myers. Do you think it would be a bad move to try and get him? We certainly have the prospects and the Braves and Padres have worked well together. Coppy wants young and controllable and Myers certainly fits that bill.
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
I'm guessing he said more as a nod to fans. Probably not enough control to make sense to make a big play for Myers, though perhaps not wholly unrealistic.

2:55
any chance a team gets desperate enough to offer big value for tyson ross?
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
No. He needs to return and show he's back. Not a candidate for now.
Patrick
2:56
Are we getting to the point where Shelby Miller gets sent down to the minors?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
It is ugly. Think they'd need to expose him to revocable waivers to option him, if he has any remaining, but maybe that's ok - who'd claim him at his salary?
sk
2:57
May need a poll on this one, I've got leftover meatloaf and shrimp lo-mein in my fridge, which direction do I go tonight?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
No I got this. Leftover seafood = gross.
Shane
2:58
Did the braves miss their window to trade high for Vizcaino?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
Maybe, but honestly, it's hard to cut deals that early in year.
OC Dodger
2:59
any idea why Joba has not been picked up?
