Would signing Senga really be the best utilization of the Mariners’ resources, rather than putting that toward one of the top shortstops or outfielders on the market?

If the M's are open to moving Gonzales or Flexen, maybe they've decided they need an upgrade over both guys.  If Senga was signed, Gonzales and Flexen could then both be shopped for other upgrades

I forget which Toronto beat reporter recently wrote about this (I think Ben Nicholson-Smith?), but apparently the Jays weren't quite as close as many thought to signing Syndergaard last year.

Doesn't mean they didn't have interest, of course, and it doesn't mean he might not still be on their target list this winter.  Syndergaard could be a pretty good add for a rotation that (ideally) would use him as a fourth starter

The Yankees had basically everyone healthy for 2.5 months, almost every pitcher (starter and reliever) throwing really well, Judge was hitting at a historic level, and Rizzo was on fire.  It was too good to last, and sure enough, the cracks started showing once some of the pitchers started getting hurt.

To be frank, I doubt Adames is being extended.  He may have already passed the ideal window for the Brewers to lock him up on a multi-year deal
