Comerica is a great ballpark, I've enjoyed multiple games there.  For some reason it's rarely mentioned among the top stadiums in baseball.

What's the hold up on the Giants extending Webb? Is it possible Zaidi's aversion to long term deals for pitchers will lead to him leaving? Thanks mark.

Takes two to tango with any extension.  Could be that the two sides just haven't matched up yet on numbers or years, but that's no major obstacle to date.

Webb is controlled through 2025, so there isn't any true urgency for the Giants to lock him up immediately.  Maybe even waiting until next winter might be okay for the team, since they'll have more information and perhaps more certainty that Webb is a frontline ace worthy of a major extension.

After so many years of losing, Anaheim fans wanted a change.  As to why Moreno changed his mind, only he knows for sure, but it could be anything from a simple change of heart to perhaps a lack of bidders meeting his (high) price

McCarthy will still get a lot of time, since Lewis might be used more often as a DH

Long-term, the D'Backs probably prioritize seeing what they have in McCarthy rather than a one-year rental like Gurriel, so if push comes to shove, McCarthy will get more playing time over Gurriel too

Better bats, sure, but not necessarily enough to really turn the dial in terms of being an above-average lineup.  Also, there are plenty of defensive questions around the diamond, which is a possible setback to the pitching.

I can see an argument for Miami being a sleeper, but they face an uphill battle just getting out of fourth place in the NL East

I think all Baltmore fans hope the Orioles eventually operate more like the Astros than the Rays in terms of spending, but it's also too early in the post-rebuild era to truly determine how the O's will "normally" run.  It could be that they're more apt to trade veterans if they're able to keep a steady prospect pipeline going, but that might more of a 2025-2026 decision than something to worry about now

Even with more turnover to come before Opening Day and even early into the season, this A's roster actually looks like a lot of fun this year, compared with last year. Lots of interesting prospects to check out, with some fun veterans and a mountain of SP prospects all MLB ready.

Kind of a risk based on length and Darvish's age, but since the Padres are willing to stretch payroll, they'll take that risk in order to lock up Darvish for at least a couple more prime years

The luxury tax factor shouldn't be ignored, since the extension also slightly dipped Darvish's tax number.

I haven’t always agreed with every Arte move. But just because a team gets a new owner, doesn’t always mean, that the new owner will put winning over profit. There are a lot of owners of teams, who only care about profit. Not if the team wins or loses.

If Hicks plays well, all will be forgiven pretty quickly among Bronx fans.

In a perfect world, I'll bet the Yankees would've preferred to add someone as at least a platoon option in LF, rather than stick with the incumbents.  But, Cabrera adds some interesting upside to the mix.
