Moose's job, others will be on bench or in minors. I mean you could always imagine a somewhat under-utilized player being moved, but there's no particular roster pressure in those cases and they may be kept for when Moose departs.
2:58
Darn it.
@TaylorBlakeWard
NL scout on gave serious praise to Tim Tebow, "That raw power is irreplaceable," asked him to grade his power, "80"
So we will need to take this seriously, I suppose.
2:59
Look, I am all for it. Should be fun to watch. I'll remain skeptical though.

Define "in his way" (re: Rose). how was "his way" different from Ichiro's?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
Well, he's kind of odd and has had some issues along the way. So there's that. And then there was the different way just in that he played in the US for his whole career. Ichiro couldn't/didn't.
Unique paths, so don't need to be compared directly in large part. But I don't see why anyone gets seriously fired up about it.

What are the odds Yoan Moncada gets the call this September??
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
Seemingly rather good, but in a limited capacity.
Jon Morosi has credited Tebow with hitting two doubles, btw.
3:02
I gather he is assuming league average defensive play mixed with TT's 50-grade wheels.
No word if statcast was available.

Is Gary Sanchez the real deal?
Jeffrey Todd
3:03
I really don't have special insight on this, but generally, hitting the ever-loving crap out of the ball for extended stretches is more promising than not. I don't see a particular reason to go too overboard -- we see a lot of guys go on nice runs and then need to adjust -- but obviously it bodes well.
3:04
OOF
@MarcCarig
TC not encouraging re: Walker. Back is gonna be something he must manage from here on out. Will need plenty of time off.
Bad for Mets, and for Walker's FA case.
"long-term" back problem

Tebow the new #1 baseball prospect?
Jon
3:05
How likely Tebow gets into hall of fame? Can you poll it?
Jeffrey Todd
3:05
Yeah I'll skip the first and go right to the 2nd.
Tebow for MLB HOF?

Yes (32.9% | 52 votes)

No (44.9% | 71 votes)

Bit too soon to tell for sure (22.2% | 35 votes)

Total Votes: 158

If Josh Hamilton can come back from drugs several times, then Tim Tebow could at least give it a decent run.
Jeffrey Todd
3:06
But Hamilton was, like, playing baseball that whole time (more or less).
Look, dude can obviously hit a little. Whether he'll be able to hone reflexes to be successful at MLB level? That's a big jump, esp at age 29.

Was the Heyward deal a bad one for the Cubs?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
I was a believer at the time, but it isn't looking pretty.
Only 16 of you think Tebow is a HOFer? That's all?
Aaaaand .... @MarcCarig
Matz had a setback. Shoulder's still barking. Not pitching Thursday. DeGrom moved up a day.

Should I have signed Carlos Gomez since Pence is still dealing with his lingering hamstring issue?
Jeffrey Todd
3:08
Teams had a long look at Gomez all year long. If they didn't pursue him, there's a reason.

In basketball, wingspan has become a key physical trait for evaluating NBA players. Is there a similar physical metric in baseball?
Jeffrey Todd
3:09
You wonder if some kind of hand-eye assessment could be analogous, but I wouldn't expect a pure physical trait to hold much meaning as an isolated variable.

Is Brandon Moss getting a 2 or 3 year deal in free agency?
Jeffrey Todd

Sounds about right.

Even if you think they are exactly as good as the Giants, probably given them the edge just b/c they have a lead.

Yosn should get called up - the insanity of 49 man September rosters continues. Your thoughts on 40/man/sept. It would be be like NFL expanding to 80 guys -
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
I'm not in love with the huge rosters.
