Sounds a bit steep, honestly. I mean, that's not a huge payday, and really we don't have a lot of comps to work with, but ... I'll guess he ends up on a one-year prove-it deal. Or maybe 3 on a slightly lower AAV. (Something analogous to the Phil Hughes deal?)

I still believe in Heyward for the Cubs. Incredible defense. Several guys struggle in first year with the Cubs. Bat showing life of late with a few adjustments. Still young. Thoughts?

We won't view them as a likely 2017 contender buying some really surprising moves. So first possible year they'll be reasonably expected to contend = 2018, probably.
