Biggio now being in his third straight unproductive season would seemingly mean that he's running short of chances.

Bench depth is an underrated issue for the Blue Jays, since Biggio, Espinal, and Jansen (before the last couple of games) have all been ice-cold thus far.  Combine this with Belt's struggles and the lineup isn't getting much support when a regular needs a day off, or when the Jays need a pinch-hit situation late in a game.

M's fan here, and I was wondering about the rumors that the Padres might want to trade away Tatis.  M's have need of a SS. Crawford, in my eyes, isn't the answer.  What kind of return would it take do you think??

If you're the Mariners, Tatis is such a difficult player to evaluate for trade purposes that it's hard to imagine a deal coming together.  Naturally the M's aren't going to pay full value for a guy coming off a lengthy suspension and who had injury problems even before the suspension.  By the same logic, the Padres might not want to risk selling low on a player with superstar potential, even if they have regrets about giving him the big extension so early

Do signing bonuses and performance incentives count against the luxury tax?
Mark P
9:25
Signing bonuses definitely do.  I believe performance bonuses are added after the fact, once all the end-of-year accounting is complete.  (So teams can't pull some shady move like a $1MM guaranteed contract but then a $15MM performance incentive if a player makes five plate appearances or something goofy.)

Castellanos kinda got the nickname Nickey Singles last year. Do you think he's finally become comfortable and can return to '21 from?

Maybe it's a redux of Castellanos' time in Cincinnati, and he just needs some time (like, a season) to adjust to a new team.
We've coming up on two hours now, so it's time to wrap things up.  Thanks so much for your questions, and we'll be back next weekend with more chattin'!
