Do you feel if they are part of his contract, the Cubs would be able to find a trade partner for Seiya Suzuki?  Tauchman has a been great addition and Crow Armstrong is getting close.

It's too soon to cut bait on Suzuki entirely, I'd argue.  Maybe if another team came along with another interesting "bad contract swap" candidate, perhaps, but Suzuki has also yet to have a really normal start to a season.  The lockout shortened Spring Training 2022, and then his oblique injury cost him most of this past spring.  With a proper Spring Training and build-up, Suzuki might get more consistency

Some of the backlog will sort itself out since not everyone will turn out to be a productive big leaguer, or even a big leaguer whatsoever.  That's just the nature of prospects, even blue-chippers like the Orioles' crop.

Keep in mind that the Orioles are themselves still evaluating their youngsters, and this process was interrupted by the canceled 2020 minor league season.  So I'm sure at some point, the O's will be more open to moving a top minor leaguer for a win-now piece, but it doesn't need to be right now

What are the best pathways for the Mets to continue bolstering the farm system if they don't trade Alonso, and don't do another sell off next year? I'm worried that with the luxury tax, the Mets will keep getting inferior draft positioning through 10-spot penalties and worse qualifying offer FA rewards/punishments.

Obviously having higher picks helps, but keep in mind that the Dodgers have one of the best farm systems in the sport, and have been picking near the bottom of the first round for years (or haven't had a first-rounder at all).  There's talent all over the place in the draft, so the Mets just have to be better at identifying it

Jake Burger has always seems like a one-dimensional player to me, so I was surprised to see the Marlins move one of their young arms for him.  There's some risk with Eder due to his TJ surgery so it wasn't a totally clear win for the White Sox, but I'd rather roll the dice on a young arm like that
