The Red Sox had the chance to rescind the Pomeranz-Espinoza trade with the Padres and refused. Does this mean the Sox will finally stop kvetching about AJ Prellar? Will Prellar be able to make trades this off-season?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Yes. No. Yes.

Yasmany Tomas to an American League team seems completely feasible right??
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Yes. He could be an actually useful player in the AL.
3:08
Welcome to Baltimore, Yasmany!

What is the future for Matt Harvey? As a Met fan, I hope for a quick resurgence and then a trade
Jeffrey Todd
3:09
I don't think anyone really knows. Some guys bounce back reasonably well from that procedure, some basically disappear.

Do the Cubs try to shop or dump Montero this offseason or is it more likely that they hang on to him.
Jeffrey Todd
3:09
Not sure, but he seems like a solid pairing with Contreras.

Hi, Jeff... Really admire the work you are doing. Keep it up, son!
Jeffrey Todd

OMG no way!

Do you see the yankees buying out Gregorious's remaining arbitration years and adding a couple years on? If so what would you think that contract would look like? Similarly, do you think they could do that with Gary Sanchez and make it similar to what the Longoria contract looked like?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
I don't think they really need to do that. Can afford to wait and pay up if he follows through with a good 2017.
3:11
I guess you could argue for rolling the dice on Sanchez, but that just isn't how the Yankees operate. I might feel dumb for saying this, but ... who is the last guy they gave an early-career extension to? Seems they prefer to force players to earn it every year through the arb process.

Any chance the Astros and Marlins make a swap of McHugh plus others for Ozuna?
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
Ozuna is worth far more, IMO. McHugh has value, but not a great year. And Ozuna was fantastic.

Contract prediction for Matt Joyce?
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
maybe 2/12?

I think the 'experiment" with Garret Richards and the stem cell therapy as an alternative to TJ surgery is fascinating. He's looking good. But if I were calling the shots i think i would put him in the bullpen next year a closer to limit his innings and then return him to the rotation in '18. the Braves did that with Smoltz. What do you think? The team is really aiming for '18 anyway.
Jeffrey Todd
3:13
I don't know the right strategy, but they need him in the rotation. And it is fascinating. I wish him good luck.

Colon to the Pirates on one-yr deal , or is he not reclamation enough for their taste?
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
Bart could get 2/22 if he wanted, I suspect.
Heck, maybe even more.

Steve, you are the best chat leader on this site, Thanks

The old switcheroo! It's Jeff, you've been duped.
Couple more and I have to run ...

Gary Sanchez for Chris Sale. Who hangs up first?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
I'll say Yankees. You can't get a catcher like Sanchez has shown he could be. You can get an ace if you're willing to pay enough (at least, in most years).
Matt
3:15
What about Ozuna for Sale? Fills needs on both teams?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
Ozuna isn't enough. But he'd be a solid part of a deal.
(Also I can't fathom MIA pulling off a deal for Sale.)

Think I should make a run for Aroldis Chapman?
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
'Stros pen was pretty danged good. They need a lefty but not THAT lefty. He's going to get paid.
2k16 Postseason
3:16
Is the Nats overrated, i mean that nicely. Because they never live up to expectations. Do they have a better shot than LAD to go to NLCS? i dont see that happening. idk? What u think
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
Never? Or just the two times they have been in the postseason. It's a very small sample. Both series went down to the wire.
3:17
Postseason is a crapshoot and both teams are talented. Dodgers injury issues are trending up, Nats not so much. I think it's basically a coin flip.

Do you think the new CBA will allow for draft pick trading?
Jeffrey Todd
3:17
Haven't heard a clear suggestion of that, but it should.
Fun

It seems like Steve goes on Vacation quite often. Is that accurate?
Jeffrey Todd
3:17
Pretty much. Lazy.
