No, I don't see them signing multiple significant free agents. And I don't think doing so would necessarily make them a clear contender.
And I also don't think the Sox are dealing Quintana for far-off prospects.

I mean, I don't know that I see a way for the Mets to get away from the three lefty OF bats they have. None really boosted their stock last year.
Certainly they could try to get creative to move one out and bring a righty in or something. But prying Cutch or Braun loose? Don't see it.

We routinely see one-year deals of $10MM and over for bounceback pitchers.
And it's a limited risk, so idiotic seems very strong.

Not sure I see the Tigers dealing Kinsler. Off the top of my head, there's no real replacement. From a competitive standpoint, they'd probably like to be improving in the MI already (over Iglesias).

I don't think they are just going to dump the biggest contracts. My guess is they are more targeted and really do try to stay competitive while trying to shift their asset mix a bit.
Not saying it's not possible, but I guess I feel like JDM is an easier piece to cash in.

Even if that's the case ... he went on to have an abysmal stretch with the Dodgers in which he was used in a platoon capacity and is now entering a market loaded with corner outfielders.
