Jeffrey Todd

Bigger need in CF far as I can tell.
Nate
2:43
With the catcher market being slim this offseason, could someone be willing to overpay for Nick Hundley?
Jeffrey Todd
2:43
That is sorta my expectation, yeah.
Arlo
2:43
How about a guy like Anthony DeSclafani for Yankees? He seems to fit their recent mold
Jeffrey Todd
2:44
Sure but Reds won't give him up lightly.
Deal
2:44
Imagine a scenario where the Braves flip the switch next year and sign Desmond, Rich Hill, and Castro in order to contend. Does a Quintana for Allard, Soroka, Ruiz and Acuna trade line up?
Jeffrey Todd
2:44
No, I don't see them signing multiple significant free agents. And I don't think doing so would necessarily make them a clear contender.
And I also don't think the Sox are dealing Quintana for far-off prospects.

This idea was floated Tuesday and Steve seemed intrigued, curious for your opinion - could a Urias for Verlander swap realistically happen?
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
Seriously? I don't see that.
2:46
He informs me that is not accurate, also.

Could Mets target Andrew Mccutcheon or Ryan Braun if Cespedes leaves?
JFC
2:46
Do the mets deal Granderson or Bruce this offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
These seem related ...
2:47
I mean, I don't know that I see a way for the Mets to get away from the three lefty OF bats they have. None really boosted their stock last year.
Certainly they could try to get creative to move one out and bring a righty in or something. But prying Cutch or Braun loose? Don't see it.

$16 mill for Gomez would be idiotic - for any team.
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
I mean, okay. He has been a superstar level player and ended the year playing very well.
2:49
We routinely see one-year deals of $10MM and over for bounceback pitchers.
And it's a limited risk, so idiotic seems very strong.

If I get creative in Baltimore by trading Britton , could I get more than Gio and Fedde or Cole from the Nats ?
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
I'd want more.
Chris
2:50
Who trades for Zack Cozart (if anybody) in the offseason, or does he stick around til the trade deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
There are so few options at the position that I think it's pretty reasonable to think he gets dealt.
Could also see Peralta moved.
Davey
2:52
Evan Gattis as a catching target for Mets? could send back d'arnaud and pitching/outfield to houston
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
If teams think Gattis is really good enough behind the plate to play significant amounts of time there, then why would the Astros trade him? They are already losing Castro.
Drake
2:52
What kind of deal does Reddick get this offseason? 4 years $52 mil? 3 years $45? Is he a durability concern?
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
Leaning Markakis-ish (4/44)

What's the chances Boston trades bradley for an ace level pitcher?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
Not sure but I have been thinking about this as a plausible scenario.
python-r
2:55
What about trading Cody Allen instead of Miller? He's underrated but awesome.
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
Also something I think could happen.
Davey
2:56
Biggest position player traded this offseason? Kinsler?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
Not sure I see the Tigers dealing Kinsler. Off the top of my head, there's no real replacement. From a competitive standpoint, they'd probably like to be improving in the MI already (over Iglesias).
2:58
I don't think they are just going to dump the biggest contracts. My guess is they are more targeted and really do try to stay competitive while trying to shift their asset mix a bit.
Not saying it's not possible, but I guess I feel like JDM is an easier piece to cash in.

Reddick already turned down 3/36 from Oakland
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
Even if that's the case ... he went on to have an abysmal stretch with the Dodgers in which he was used in a platoon capacity and is now entering a market loaded with corner outfielders.
