The slower pitching market has a trickle-down effect to non-contenders as well, because if you're the Nationals, you have to put in the extra legwork of convincing a pitcher with options to join a team that probably isn't going to be competitive in 2024.

This notwithstanding, I give credit to the Royals for doing a good job of convincing Lugo and Wacha, in addition to ponying up the money

Do you realistically see them Brewers moving Burnes/Adames/Williams or waiting until the deadline?

The infamous Josh Hader situation gives me pause in thinking the Brewers would dare trade another star at the deadline if they're still in the race.
My guess is Burnes is traded this offseason, Adames walks in free agency, and Williams is dealt next offseason.

Was the Glasnow extension an overpay especially with his injury history

It caught me by surprise, admittedly, yet pitching pays.  Simple as that.  Also, a lack of games is a lack of games, yet Glasnow's injury history is somewhat unusual enough that he isn't quite as injury-prone as one would expect just looking at his record
