Mark Melancon really made out in FA, huh! His agent is a wizard
Jeffrey Todd

It was well played, agreed. He has been great and all, but at his age and as a reliever, that's huge $.

I remember the year Jon Stewart missed a flyball because he was having a smoke break in the outfield.
Jeffrey Todd

Those were the days.
(I don't recall this, but I'm assuming it's true.)

What would the Nats have to give up for someone like Alex Colome?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
Lots.
3:11
Think TBR would want MLB pieces. Don't really see it as viable for the Nats right now.
Going to try to answer a few more here before I take off.

Would the Dodgers be interested in Jurickson Profar?
Jeffrey Todd
3:13
Your guess is as good as mine as to how they view him from a scouting perspective. I guess Washington did show some interest in him. But he hasn't produced and doesn't have much control left. Think TEX values him most highly at present.
3:14
Someone has totally jammed up the queue, sorry.
Thanks guy.

Jay Bruce to TB, what would the Rays have to give up?
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
That's just not a fit. But Bruce is going to go for little in return.

How about this. Forsythe -> LAD, Dozier to TB, Colome to WAS and prospects to MN (and necessary filler elsewhere). And then SEA gets involved for some reason too

Posting this just b/c of the last sentence. Nic.
*Nice.

My dad and I had over an hour long convo about us trading Britton. I said do it if we can get an MLB ready player and a decent prospect, he said a flat NO. Should we, and if so, what could we expect in return?
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
Should ask for a ton, and yeah it should probably be an MLB piece. Which is why it isn't likely to happen.

Rumours of Pittsburgh's interest in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in a potential trade involving McCutchen have been swirling in Toronto.

Could that be a shrewd move of a far-off prospect for a recovering star, or a potential career-killer trade (I.e., Bagwell-Anderson)
Jeffrey Todd
3:17
I really have no insider info on Vlad Jr, but it seems like a fair swap of risk. This is one of those concepts where you shrug, b/c it's so hard to assess value of such a young guy.
3:18
Okay, I'm going to call it quits. Thanks everyone.
We'll do it again next week.
