Need at least 6 more trades IMO.

2:44
What do you make of Mets saying they're after low-cost relievers? Conforto for Vizcaino to much to ask for?
Jeffrey Todd
2:44
See now that's unreasonable.
Aladdin Sane
2:45
Why does MLBTR use K/9 and BB/9 over more informative K% and BB%?
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
Well, we are probably a little slower to adapt to some of the stats b/c of need to get readers up to speed. And we have used the /9's for quite a while. But it's worth considering.

With Forsythe being on the out and the Rays looking for a new 2B, do you think an Ozzie Albies-led package could be even more appealing for Chris Archer?
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
Yes, but there'd have to be quite a bit more, too.

2:46
Is Moz really going into the season with 6 infielders
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
They can still make a deal during camp, of course. I would guess Adams, still, or maybe somebody comes calling for Peralta. They can probably manage having this group on the roster if it comes to it, though, and maybe they just really believe Adams is worth holding onto unless they get something useful in return.

Adam walker won't effect Markakis' playing time, will it?
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
Theoretical platoon mate.
Dang it, last Walker question. i suck.

Todd, What is your favorite baseball moment?

Should I have gotten more money?
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
Not really. He doesn't have a ton of earning upside, really. Maybe I'd have chosen to roll the dice on playing out my arb years, but hard to blame a guy in his situation from ensuring he's set for life (if managed properly).
2:50
Now, the Calhoun deal I really didn't quite understand. Giving up a FA year for a fairly marginal promise when you are an established, reasonably youthful, quality regular with $10MM already banked?
To each his own, but I wasn't seeing the logic there quite as much.

Do you feel bad that most everyone on this chat is on company time?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
Actually I feel great about that. Great shirking, everyone!
But seriously ... doing a good job involves some little mental breaks, no?

Greetings from Greece! Beign a chicagoan in Greece IS HARD, EITHER PEOPLE HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT BASEBALL OR THE THINK IM A CUBS FAN! LOL but just wondering. Who will be a better middle infield combo on both sides of the ball? Moncada and Anderson of the Sox oe Albies and Swanson of Atlanta? and why?
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
As ever, if you claim to be from another country, you get your question answered. Greetings!
That is a cool question ... to the poll!

Could the Rays trade De Leon to the Twins for Dozier? Would the Twins accept?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
They could in theory, they might if they could in fact, the Twins would not.
Chrysostom
2:54
Why no trade talk around Julio Teheran?
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
Just no indication ATL is interested.
So the ATL MI combo is in the lead.
2:56
Guess I'd like to roll the dice on the upside of Chicago's unit.

I'm from Canada, is that far away enough to get my question answered?
Jeffrey Todd
2:56
Nah. Just not that exotic, sorry.
Ryan Smith
2:57
any indications Orioles will make another splash?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
Not particularly, but you have to count on at least one late-offseason move. They seem to be shopping Brach around, for whatever reason/purpose.
Luke
2:57
Do you expect Greg Holland to assume closing duties immediately?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
Ottavino is kinda money. Definitely don't think Holland will just be handed the job.

In MLB circles, are the Jays stigmatized for being a Canadian team? If so, dollars, geography or Bautista?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
Geography could have a role for many free agents, and taxes do have an impact on take-home earnings. There are probably some players who'd be pretty uninterested in Toronto if they had their say, but it's not like they've been unable to sign high-profile free agents or extend guys.

Lot of scrutiny of the Melancon deal, 60% ground ball rate and a very good Giants infield behind him. Shouldn't the conversation be how does sink age? Plus similar to Cueto, he got a front loaded deal with an opt out after year 2 that if he's healthy he could exit.
