Will Nap end up being a steal for Rangers?
Jeffrey Todd
2:25
I don't see immense upside there. Could be a solid value, though, esp if you put a lot of stock into his veteran leadership and such.
Todd Jeffrey
2:26
Nothing going on with Todd Frazier, huh?
Jeffrey Todd
2:26
Nope. But if I had to pick one guy who could be a surprise mid/late-camp trade piece ...
JM
2:28
Realism of Utley signing with the Indians?
Jeffrey Todd
2:29
Could see it if a) he can't find a semi-regular job elsewhere and b) they'd plan to use him at third a decent bit with Ramirez floating as a heavily used utility guy.
Nats Closer Watch
2:30
Are the Nats going to let me stop posting questions about their closer situation by getting a closer?
Jeffrey Todd
2:30
I'll guess no, they don't add an experienced closer this spring.
2:31
(Excepting the veteran types still floating around who used to be closers.)
Pitch Framing
2:32
True/False: If Scott Boras was representing Jason Castro he'd be telling the world pitch framing is the most important and telling statistic in determining the quality of a big league catcher?
Jeffrey Todd
2:32
Well, his job is to get money for his clients.

I can understand why the Carlos Martinez extension was good for the Cards, but wouldn't he have gotten more on the open market? How much would he actually go for?
Jeffrey Todd
2:33
Depends on how he performed and whether he stayed healthy for the next 3 years. That's why the team gets a discount.
The Toe
2:34
If Wade Davis is healthy does the Cubs pen rival the Indians in badassery?
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
Hard not to love the CLE unit, especially with Logan, who gets as many swings and misses as Miller does. I wonder if there's some sequencing or approach change that could make Boone even better.
2:36
I don't see the Cubs in quite that league, mostly due to risk. BUT I thought Koji came at a great price. Davis ... we'll see, could be a stroke of genius or his questions could prove to be significant problems.
Smy Guyley
2:37
What is Michael Bourne actually worth now?
Jeffrey Todd
2:37
Minor league deal with a high likelihood of making the roster, or perhaps a small guarantee with a 40-man spot.
Billy Heywood
2:38
What are your thoughts on the raised strike zone, and intentional walk proposals?
Jeffrey Todd
2:39
Getting a lot of Q's on this, and I honestly haven't thought too hard about it. But I am generally in favor of trying to cut back on swings and misses so we can see more balls in play.
ABK
2:39
Not that they would do this, but if the white sox said "hey Jeff, we'll give you Q straight up for Bregman" would the astros accept?
Jeffrey Todd
2:39
My take: White Sox would be crazy not to offer. Astros would not accept.
2:40
Well Bucs fans ... here's your pitching addition
Pirates @Pirates
37s
The Pirates have acquired RHP Pat Light (@Pat_Light) from the Twins in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations.
(Kidding. But hey, live arms on the Pirates are always fun.)
A's Fan
2:41
Your thoughts about the "new" A's ownership? Especially Kaval hitting the right quotes. You think the A's will spend more money in the future?
Jeffrey Todd
2:42
I think all teams pretty much try to find an optimal point where they max their profit, right? With some wiggle room for taking risk and/or serving the personal interest of ownership.
If they can earn more (new stadium, TV rights, etc) then the amount it's worth investing will likely move north. Otherwise, they have probably settled in this range for a reason.

FYI Brian Wilson is breadless!

And sell-out alert
Conforto
2:44
What's your thought about him starting in AAA this year?
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
Seems silly, but I guess if the roster situation demands it ... better than eating a bunch of cash just to get rid of Bruce (assuming that's what would be required).
TSizzle

Chances the DBacks trade Greinke by the trade deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
Only if they decide to hold onto a whole lotta money.
Goodassery and other Neologisms

Is Khris Davis a reasonable extension candidate?
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
I'd be surprised if the A's were willing to offer enough to get him to bite. He's already got money in the bank and can earn a lot via arb, so he doesn't have much reason to sell himself short.

WHY IN THE WORLD DID THE REDS GIVE ME OVER $100 MIL WHEN I WAS 49-45 LIFETIME?
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
You had me and then you lost me.

If the Cubs vastly under-performed everyone's expectations this year, and won under 90 games, what would you guess went wrong?
