I could see it being relatively slow, but possibly not for the reason you suggest.  If a team signs Burnes, for instance, that's probably not going to stop them from also pursuing Sasaki because (as you put it) he's basically "free."

If anything, that might help in the recruitment effort, in showing Sasaki that you're serious about winning next season and bringing in lots of pitching to the rotation.
Prospects are bust

The Red Sox seem very intent in keep the big 4 in their prospect lineup l is better going after a FA or trying to deal w out the loss of the 4. For this I mean top end starter thanks

Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe had a good quote the other day, pointing that out that in all likelihood, one or two of the "big four" will end up being forgettable players at the MLB level.  That's just how it is with prospects, no matter how highly-touted.

So if you're the Red Sox, you definitely don't want to trade the one of the four that goes onto stardom.  The Sox surely have their own internal evaluations about which of the four they like best, but ultimately I'm sure they'd like to see all four in a Boston uniform to prove themselves

If you were running Toronto's front office would you be looking to spend big on a corner outfielder (TON or better) or a bounceback candidate like Jason Heyward or Alex Verdugo?
Mark P

It's not my money, but I'd spend big a player who brings more to the table than those two options

Does Eddie Julien have any trade value is the Twins were try to swap for pitching?
Mark P

Despite his struggles last year, Julien has some value, sure
Sasaki

If they had announced my posting sooner, would I have made the top 50 free agents?
Mark P
9:24
Absolutely, and he would've been very high on the list

Do you think we’re Mookie plays second or shortstop? Depends on if they sign Adames or not also, do you think Outman gets another shot in centerfield with Teo and pages in the corners

Edman likely gets the bulk of CF time in this scenario.  And I could see Rushing making his debut and being part of the LF mix pretty quickly if he keeps shredding up Triple-A pitching

We've stretched this one to almost 2.5 hours, since frankly, I lost track of the time!  So many good questions, and still not enough time to get to everyone.  Fortunately, we'll be back next weekend to celebrate the 70th anniversary of that 17-player Orioles/Yankees swap.
