Seemingly mild, so perhaps he's still able to go. If not, yeah, it would have to be Dietrich.

2:22
Why doesn't Nate Jones get brought up in trader talks? Because he's not a "closer?"
Jeffrey Todd
2:23
He has been mentioned and I don't see why he wouldn't be highly valued despite the lack of closing experience. There's enough control there that they don't need to be in a rush to move him, though.

Why hasn't Luke Hochevar signed yet?
Jeffrey Todd
2:24
Sometimes injured pitchers prefer to work back and showcase before signing. Not sure what his approach is, though.

Why don't we see Spring Training trades?
Jeffrey Todd
2:25
There are deals from time to time during and after camp. Craig Kimbrel to the Padres being perhaps the most notable one of recent vintage. But generally, it's just that teams have already largely placed their bets and set things up the way they want. And it makes sense to wait until you get most of the way through camp before parting with depth or making final judgments on guys who might be uncertain.

What should the Os do with Mancini? Seems like his bat is already ML-capable, but he's blocked at every position (and the OF experiment has just begun).
Jeffrey Todd
2:26
I guess just let him learn to play the OF in Triple-A. Not like he's been so overwhelming in the upper minors that it'd be shameful to keep his bat down for a few months.

Is Boras becoming a distraction for his clients? Was it really necessary to have Sanchez turn down the raise when he only required the league minimum? Sanchez was not good today where he has been all spring.
Jeffrey Todd
2:27
It's nothing new from Boras and I'm sure his guys are on the same page re the approach.
2:28
As for turning down the cash, it was so little money (seems about $15K) that it's not hard to reject it to make a stand, I guess.

When will a playoff team stand on my soil?
Jeffrey Todd
2:29
Looks like the Nats are in town April 18-20.
2:30
But if you mean the Braves ... I guess it'd be hard to predict anything before 2019.

What are your favorite 80-grade skills in the game right now?
Jeffrey Todd
2:31
Billy Hamilton running the bases is hard to beat.
Derek
2:31
How did your guys fantasy draft go? Will we get to see your guys lineups?
Jeffrey Todd
2:32
My team is amazing, of course. (Probably not, who knows.)
I'll see if there's any interest in making any of that public ... but believe me, it isn't all that interesting, ha.

My wife is turning 30 next week. Any idea on what I should buy her for a birthday gift?
Jeffrey Todd
2:32
Yes, actually.
2:33
Skip the stuff, take her on an awesome trip or for an incredible meal you'd never normally pay for.

Holland hit 95 in his first game action in 18 months, McGee's approaching his old velocity, Dunn's been good so far, and Ottavino's still nails. Are the Rockies actually going to have a good bullpen this year!?
Jeffrey Todd
2:34
No reason it shouldn't be a solid unit. Obviously you have to adjust ERA expectations for Coors, but looks pretty good on paper, esp if Holland is back to anything near his old form.
Motte and Qualls still look like poor investments, but if they aren't working out as 6/7th inning guys can always cut them free.
2:35
Big problem is the loss of Bettis. Really sucks.
Hudson
2:35
Prediction for Michael Wacha?
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
Good signs so far, but how do we really wager on his shoulder health?
Some Guy
2:36
What did the Rockies do to piss off the baseball gods?
Jeffrey Todd
2:36
Even the baseball gods need a rotation.
2:37
As for the injuries this spring ... eh, just have to hope they are a bit snakebitten early. Desmond/Murphy/Dahl don't appear to be major, long-term injuries.
Hector Olivera
2:37
Will i ever play MLB again?
Jeffrey Todd
2:37
Nope
Ryan
2:39
Do you think the suspension had anything to do with the lack of trades from Preller this offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
2:39
Nah. Focus was on international side. And they have a lot of young guys already filling out the 40-man, esp with the Rule 5 picks, and little in the way of obvious veteran trade candidates.
Leo

Best rotation... Indians, Mets, Nats, or Red Sox?
Jeffrey Todd
2:40
I'm taking Mets right now.

What starting pitcher is most likely traded to a contender midseason??
Jeffrey Todd
2:41
Ervin Santana?
