I think they are going to mostly hang around the WC hunt, at least, and won't be looking to sell. But Reynolds would have to really sustain some production for a while to generate a return of any interest. There's a reason he signed a minor league deal.

Carlos Correa says he doesn't want to sign an extension. If your the Astros do you try to convince him otherwise?
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
No harm in trying up to whatever their breaking point is. But maybe it's just not worth pursuing right now.

Can't Buxton build his strike zone comfort by bunting 50% of the time? Even if the opponent knows what's coming, it's still a ball put in play and his speed to contend with...
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
Starting and completing a swing is quite a different thing than placing a bunt.

Your thoughts on the Phil's Crawford? Not exactly lighting it up so far. I realize its early, but seeing this coupled with last seasons performance, are the Phils scared yet?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
Dunno exactly how the org feels, but Keith Law just ranked him 4th among prospects, so he's not bailing.

With Cron seemingly losing favor, once Valbuena returns, think Angels send him down or try testing very early market? (Also could option Marte)
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
I've never really understood this talk of a Cron trade. If he's not doing enough for the Angels, an AL team that need a first baseman/DH, then who else would really want him? Obviously there are other clubs that might like him more, etc, but there's just not going to be much value there unless he hits well enough that they don't want to trade him.

I'm digging Bruce right now on my Mets and the way he's been swinging the bat/taking walks. Too small of a sample size to believe he keeps this up? Does he stay if he does?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
I think he mostly is who he is at this point. The OBP will fluctuate with BABIP. He's streaky with lotsa pop when he's going good. Kind of a left-handed-hitting Mark Trumbo.

Could you see the Reds trading Mesoraco to an AL club who could use him as a DH?
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
His value at this point is as a catcher. I know he had the one huge year but he needs to reestablish himself quite a bit. Nobody is dealing for him and plugging him onto a MLB roster as a DH.

Is Arenado better than Machado?

Manny for me.

That Brandon Belt extension was soooo good wasn't it!!!?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
I thought so. Very underrated player because he doesn't hit a lot of dingers.

Will Bellinger force the Dodgers hand early on this season? Play some corner OF, give agon some time to rest
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
He's not on the 40-man yet, which is a factor. They prize the flexibility and won't want to commit to taking a spot until they know they want/need to. In this case, they have a couple righty sluggerish types. But maybe he could follow a similar course to Seager, who didn't come up until late in 2015 and ended up playing a ton in the postseason?

I don't believe Brett Anderson stays healthy all year
Jeffrey Todd

That's a bold, bold statement.
Rooting for Anderson, though. Seems like a good dude.

What are the chances of me being able to ship off all of Cabrera, Jones, Abreu, Frazier and Q but the trade deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
All? Unlikely. But I'd expect at least two and probably three of those guys to be gone by August.
Jeff Todd
3:02
I really think giving the player minimum to a guy in his first 0-2 years is a detriment to future negotiations. I'm a real moron.

Are you a believer in Judge?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Have to like that he can draw a walk. And if the huge K numbers last year are just a blip, and the power finally shows up fully in game action, you've got something. I guess I don't see him as a future superstar, but he seems destined to be at least a useful big leaguer for a while and could be more.

Nope. Exact opposite of the pre-Crosley park in your handle.

Jeffrey Todd

None or one (Mets).

Okay, there's my prediction for the day. Gotta go! Ya'll have a good one.
