Look ...the fans are coming to the yard. So Donaldson and Osuna and probably even Happ aren't likely to be traded.
That leaves a bunch of guys that just aren't going to bring back exciting things.
2:59
Joe Smith, Estrada (plus cash), Liriano (plus more cash) can get returns, but they aren't going to sate your hunger, Mr. Shatkins.

What is the likelihood that Reed is the only Met traded?
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
Rather low.

Do you see any validity in a Phillies trade of Stanton and Yelich? I see it as total nonsense
Jeffrey Todd

As a broad concept, I can see why it would be explored. It's obviously going to be complicated, but I wouldn't reject it out of hand.
Baltimore Chop

Brad Brach would get a better return then David Phelps?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
Similar, but you could argue for Brach f'sho.
Tigers

Were you surprised with how little we got back for JD?
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
Yeah, just b/c I thought a few more teams would see a chance to get a really elite hitter.
Even if it wasn't strictly needed.

How likely is it that Khris Davis and Matt Joyce get traded in the offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
3:02
Both have their function for the right contender, esp since Rajai could be a nifty postseason bench piece. I think both are more likely than not to move.
Chris
3:02
Do you expect Brad Hand to be dealt at the deadline or offseason
Jeffrey Todd
3:02
I think there's a game of chicken going on, but Preller will get what he can now unless the offers are really underwhelming.

Robles for Britton, who says no
Jeffrey Todd
3:04
With his health uncertainty and iffy performance thus far? No way the Nats do that.
Cheery O's
3:04
The O's trade Britton to _______ for _______?
Jeffrey Todd
3:05
I like the fit with the Dodgers, who can afford to take a risk here. I still don't know just how much value they'll give back, but I expect Britton to come  at a discount as against what we'd have expected him to command in a deadline scenario entering the season.

I guess my Royals don't stand a chance here. Maybe that's an omen that they won't make the playoff and should sell.
Jeffrey Todd
3:06
Hard to give up the core when you're firmly in WC hunt. I also wouldn't want to punt too much future value. They should be looking for the buy-low opportunities on the market IMO.
(This is all just IMO, of course. Probably didn't need to say that.)

Do you think Dellin Betances will be made available?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
I get the concept, but I'm not sure I've seen or imagined a plausible scenario just yet.

I guess we aren't talking Tribe today

Well, I'm not sure it's the most interesting situation to look at. They are obviously interested in a utility type. Not likely going after a big bat with JDM gone. Probably looking to get by with the existing rotation with Salazar returning. Maybe a lefty b/c of Logan's injury?

List all the Giants you expect to be traded please
Jeffrey Todd

Eduardo Nunez
I think Strickland is next likeliest, but Nunez is maybe the only one I would say I "expect" to see gone.

What player with 2 first names gets traded?

Addison Reed

You see? I'm not a freak!
There are many of us.

How come there hasn't been more rumors of a Bumgarner trade? His option won't vest cause won't hit 400 innings. Shouldn't teams be capitalizing on a lower trade value a la Chapman in 2015?
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
Because there's just zero chance the Giants are going to trade him right now. And they have said as much. I don't doubt other teams would love to try to swoop in.

It sounds like he's nearing his return, so it might not be necessary, but could a Neil Walker trade look like the Jesse Crain trade to the Rays from a few years ago?
