Is this a forum just for Braves fans?
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
Yes, because I love the ATL.
Mikey

Is billy hamilton an ideal fit for mets 2018 cf?
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
Doesn't seem like a very Alderson player.
Would rather sign Dyson, say, than give up what Reds will want for Billy.

What kind of contract would FA Daniel murphy get this offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
That's kind of fun ... he hits so much that he should easily get the VMart/Nelson Cruz range. Can still play second. Younger than those guys. Off the top of my head, I'll guess HanRam range (4/88).

Other than sheer common sense what rules/restrictions stop the Patriots for swapping brady to the dodgers for kershaw?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
I don't know why, but I'm dying.

The tigers have traded for a few SS/3B... Will Iglesias or Castellanos be moved?
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
Maybe, but I'm not expecting tons of demand and it isn't as if there is some MLB-ready stud that'll force a move.
3:17
Guess it'd be nice to get Candelario in there asap, but are you going to just send Castellanos out for whatever you can get back after a so-far middling season?
Couple more and I gotta roll.

I realize the hypothetical Trout trades must get really old, but I think he's more likely to be traded than people think. The Angels can't hack a very, very weak WC in a year with two MVP candidates and their farm is barren. Not only that, but Trout gets a 14 million dollar raise next year on an already high payroll. He's only under contract for 3 more seasons and I would think the Angels would have to blow him out of the water to sign an early extension.
Jeffrey Todd
3:18
Eventually, a Trout trade could become plausible, yes.
But the Phillies don't really seem to have the pieces to do it, even were he available right now.

why havent you done an orioles question
Jeffrey Todd
3:19
Honestly hadn't noticed one. Beyond that ... I am kinda surprised they are kinda in the WC race, but not really, because so is every other team. They really aren't in position to do much between now and the offseason.
Acuna Maitana
3:20
Actually, Braves have Maitan too. Checkmate.
Jeffrey Todd
3:20
This revelation feels worthy of the drama of the film.

Any chance the Phillies move Kingery to left next since Hernandez is playing so well?
Jeffrey Todd
3:20
No reason to force it just yet.

How do the Rangers fill their rotation in the offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
3:21
Well you saw how they did it last year. And I don't expect they'll be more inclined to do long-term deals. They'll be hunting for value in trade/FA. Could see a Profar-for-change-of-scenery starter deal, for instance.
3:22
(By last year, I meant this last offseason ... in advance of this year. Sorry. Referring here to Cashner, Ross, et al.)

Do you think it's likely that the Royals retain one of their three big free agents (Cain, Moose, Hosmer), and if so, who do you think is most likely to be it?
Jeffrey Todd
3:22
If any, I'd guess Moose. Still young, questionable demand from the rest of the league.
3:23
But if Hosmer ends up having to settle for a lesser deal from KC, can you imagine the spectacle Boras will create of how the deep-hearted star just wanted to stay home?

Chris Archer available in the offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
3:24
Yes, but only at a big price. They don't need to move him.
James Franco
3:24
Does Price opt out? The media hates him here, fans are 50-50, and he seems to hate everything about Boston except $31m/year.
Jeffrey Todd
3:25
That last factor will weigh rather heavily, I'd guess.
Mikey
3:25
Whats lorenzo cains contract going to look like?

4/70?

Andrelton Simmons controlled through 2020. Is that worth trading for for the Padres? Can they get it done without giving up Gore, Quantrill, Tatis or Urias?
Jeffrey Todd
3:26
Halos would have to put a huge asking price on him given how incredibly well he has played and the team's situation.
Okay folks, I have to run. Fun as always!
We'll do it again next week.
