What's the latest on Ian Kinsler?  Is he going to be traded and if so who has the inside track?
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
No word yet on his waiver status ... not surprising, info is hard to come by on waiver situations.

2:49
If Cutch keeps looking positive the Pirates will pick up his '18 option, then offer him a Q.O. after the '19 season. If he really wants to stay, he'd take the Q.O, right?
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
Yes to the option/QO. But there's not much of an avenue for him to take it. I doubt PIT will offer it unless it's pretty sure Cutch is valuable enough that he'll turn it down, if that makes sense.
Kurt Suzuki
2:50
Is there a chance I get moved?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
Sure. Cubs and Royals both just had injuries. Every win matters for those teams, so it might be worth some money and a little prospect value to get a veteran.
2:52
If only the Twins had traded Kurt when they should have, rather than extending him, he could be in line to set an all-time record for times traded during a season.
(I have no idea what that record is ... but now I want to know.)
Smith
2:53
Which GM is sitting on the hottest seat?
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Y'know ... I honestly don't think we'll see any FO turnover this winter. Unless someone quits or something. And that's pending any changes new Marlins ownership might make.
Klentakular
2:54
Hypothetically, Trout is on the blocks.  Phils jump with Crawford, what else does it take and where does it end in prospects?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
Please stop.
2:55
There's just no way!!! I understand the Phillies' fans desires for Trout, but he may end up as the greatest baseball player who ever lived and he just turned 26.

2:56
Do you see the As making any big moves in free agency this offseason? I'd love if we managed to get Cain.
Jeffrey Todd
2:56
Doesn't seem to be trending that way at all. I'm sure they'll end up with a signing or two, at least, but they appear to be set up to try a bunch of younger guys out.
Definitely don't see Cain -- he's 32.
Mr. Todd
2:57
Seems like for 4 million teams are getting very decent players in August. Why wouldn't contending teams make more of these moves?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
Have to have the roster space and the available cash. If you don't really have room or already blew your budget ... you go with what you have.
Braves Phanatic
2:58
I take issue with the Phillies being "further ahead" on us. Any particular team can beat another, like Atlanta beating the Dodgers pretty well. Philly's pitching is a lot better though.
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
That's what I was suggesting. I was joking.
Mr. Todd
2:59
You wanna team up and submit a bid for the Marlins?
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
Let's do this. Jeb will surely be in, too.
Acuna Matata
2:59
Some are saying Ronald Acuna should be brought up in Sept just to get at-bats. But if he's not on the 40-man roster, isn't it more likely we'll see him in 2018 rather than September?
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
Yes. And is "Acuna Matata" a thing? That's awesome. I suddenly feel warm toward the Braves organization.

Any chance the Dodgers don't pick up Foresythe's club option (9M) next year?  Without Calhoun, are there any better internal options?
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
There's at least some chance. Really, depends whether the team just wants a different player. I don't think they'll be nickle and diming it if they really want Forsythe on the roster. It's not like he has been abysmal when you take the whole scope of the year.
Red Bird
3:02
Is Lance Lynn likely to go anywhere? Will STL hang around in the division?
Jeffrey Todd
3:03
Nah, that ship has sailed unless STL just suddenly collapses. They are right there now. Amazing.

Can we get a round of applause for the guy that rounded up the rally cat? He was doing the Lord's work
Jeffrey Todd
3:04
Sullied it all when he chucked the cat outside the ballpark, allowing it to be scooped up by some woman who happened to be out there (?) and claimed to own it (?) and evaded security and ran off and then proceeded to lose the cat.
Seriously... what? That's what their press release says!
Jason Motte
3:05
I've been having an under the radar decent year.  Any chance the Braves could get a bag of sunflower seeds for me?
Jeffrey Todd
3:06
He's been surviving by the will of the BABIP gods. No real interest out there, I don't think, unless a team just needs an arm.
TheRock2020

What is the strangest thing you have ever autographed?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
I have never autographed anything. Not b/c people dont ask -- they do, ALL the time -- but b/c I'm waiting til I need the money and have a chance to make a ton b/c my sig is so hard to come by.
Yucca
3:08
Will Angels focus on their poor farm this winter?
Jeffrey Todd
3:08
Well, yeah, but ... how? I mean, there's only so much opportunity for accumulating young talent and other teams do the same things, too.
3:09
It's always possible to go after minor signees, and if you have 40-man space you can get some interesting guys. But unless you're trading MLB talent for prospects, not much you can do to focus, is there?
Osuna Matata
3:11
Jays used it first.
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
Yeah but this is direct. Sorry. You lost it.
