Some teams probably aren't even bothering asking about Skubal but are more focused on Mize.  Probably every team in need of pitching can make a feasible play for Mize, which complicates the Tigers' plans.
Maybe the move is to deal Mize to one of the non-Skubal suitors, just so you aren't removing a bidder for the bigger prize

Seems like it is most likely for Arraez to go to Tampa at this point. They have a clear need for a middle infielder and a middle of the order bat.

The Rays are one of the relatively small amount of teams with a clear need at 2B.  Perhaps for that reason, Tampa Bay is wary about overpaying for Arraez in a limited market, which is a deal hasn't happened yet

Do the nats sell Wood and Abrams? Then proceeds from to Soto trade are unbelievable. Would be interesting to see how that trade tree could grow, though may be a situation to unfold in the offseason?

Zero chance Wood is traded.  Abrams very likely isn't being dealt either, at least not by Monday unless someone bowls the Nats over.

The Astros would surely prefer to avoid it, but it's probably not an absolute.  Crane is a competitive owner, and if he's presented with a trade situation that improves the Astros but takes over (slightly) over the tax line for a third straight year, my suspicion is that Crane would begrudgingly go along with it.

Should be noted that Houston's total tax bill for 2024-25 was something like $8MM in terms of actual money.  While the three-time repeater penalty is another animal altogether, it's worth a reminder that the real-world cash penalties for exceeding the CBT threshold are pocket change for a billionaire owner.

The latter.  Most front offices are so risk-adverse that they want as much info as possible before actually swinging a trade.  So, expect a lot of wild moves come Monday afternoon.

Rogers is another reliever who has pitched so well that I have to believe Toronto prefers him as part of their 2027 bullpen (which looks pretty thin outside of Varland and maybe Fisher).  Maybe if another team steps up with a big offer, but if I had to guess on a Jays reliever who's dealt by the deadline, Hoffman would be the choice over Rogers

Teams have absolutely been asking about him, including the White Sox (though that's probably off the board in the wake of the Castillo deal).  Baltimore has been playing so well, however, that I'm not sure I see them dealing Rogers just yet, if the O's still feel their best baseball is ahead of them

Are the A’s even considered a serious organization at this point? They have tanked for years now and show little inclination to improve. Would any organization hire David Forst after the CV he has compiled over the last several years?

Forst gets a lot of sympathy from me since he's in such a uniquely tough spot.  It can't be overlooked that has again (this time as the top exec) overseen another somewhat partially successful rebuild, with the caveat that remaking the pitching staff may be impossible given the ballpark situation.  Between this and the added drama of relocation, Forst has done a decent job of giving some hope to the Athletics' future, even if things won't really properly get rolling until they're in Las Vegas

A very interesting deal there.  Chicago's financial cost is somewhat mitigated by moving Dominguez as salary offset, and I'd argue that the upgrade to the rotation is more than worth losing Dominguez (who hasn't been very good this year) from the relief mix

Luis Castillo just got shipped to Chicago for Seranthony Dominguez, Nolan Jones, and Boston Smith. Thoughts on the trade and do you believe this puts an end to the idea that either Kirby or Hancock are getting moved this deadline?

Getting Castillo off the books likely ends the chances of Seattle moving any other starting pitchers.  Their rotation is now "down" to the big four and Hancock, plus Sloan and Anderson waiting in the wings.

How much stock do you think Front Offices put in top 100 prospect lists when talking trade. I'd have to imagine they do with their own scouting and models over say, Baseball America or Fangraphs right?

Absolutely true.  As you tell from the variance between BA/Fangraphs/Pipeline and other public evaluators, opinions can vary greatly on prospects, or overall system depth.

Only time will tell. But LA has moved plenty of prospects/young players (i.e. Vargas, Busch, and the biggest example of Yordan Alvarez) who ended up blossoming elsewhere
