Not that I'm aware. Obviously at some point some team would have interest. But Ells has a NTC and evidently isn't that interested in waiving it.

Honestly the Marlins are probably right to play hard to get with him (and Realmuto, too, who perhaps they really will keep).

Seems the Ms really want to explore real pitching upgrades. Duffy will be in demand from others, too -- you have him for a few years but at a really easy price. Still pretty young, etc.

I expect that projection will head north by the time they are done. Still plenty of ways to upgrade at SP as well as 3B and/or 2B.

Dodgers would be one of many teams that don't strictly speaking need Yelich who'd likely be in on him. And yes, they have some top-flight prospects that would no doubt be of interest. Not sure that's enough but not out of the realm of possibility of the key pieces of a trade.

Yeah and this isn't just about who got the biggest names. Ohtani alone gives the Angels the best offseason, in terms of market value vs cost. And they also snatched Kinsler and got a good value in Upton.

I just do not see Hosmer going to the Padres. The seem like the favorites now for him. Does this make any sense to you?

Well I don't really get it any more than anyone else does.

There are some possible strategic reasons for both sides to do this, I guess, but I assume there's some real interest at least underlying it all.

What do you see the closers left on the market getting in terms on contract years and money?

The setup guys are all going for significantly more than we anticipated in terms of AAV (not so much years). Guess I'm not convinced the value of the closer is really going to move much from the range we were at from the outset.

I'm sort of loweron Holland than others at MLBTR ... could see him at 3 or 4 at a lower AAV. Davis ought to get Melancon range if not more.

Might just depend what kind of offers they get on Cole.

They have started to put out some feelers in comments on a little step back from competitiveness. Doesn't help that Cubs and Cards are building up right now for '18 while Brewers look to be a significant threat.
