I don't see why the slow market would leave any players out jobs. Some guys lose out every year but that's dependent upon how many open roster spots there are and how deep the FA class is. Not timing.

My expectations are dropping for Hoz. I always assumed he'd get overpaid for what his numbers would suggest in value. But I was lower on expectations than others in the MLBTR home office. And now I think I'm down in that 100/120 range.

Really that's about where I started, I guess. But I bought the kool aid.

In Hoz's case a few possible suitors just aren't developing - Yanks, Red Sox especially. (Even Rockies, who were my darkhorse.) So while many FAs still are in about the situation they were when the market opened, his has worsened.

He was never a certainty to top 50, but Davis going for 3 years hurts Holland. Hard to see how he can out-earn Wade.

Think there are teams beyond the Cards, though.

Not worth the remaining contract. So it's all a question of how much another team will take and whether Arizona wants/needs to try to buy prospects in the swap.
