MLB.com usually does not lie about signings
Jeffrey Todd

Assuming this is in reference to Franklin ... cool ... I'm sure Steve or I will get it up relatively soon.

MLBTR has posted info on Nick Franklin signing https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/02/brewers-sign-nick-franklin-to-m...

dude, MBLBTR posted the NF signing a full minute before your question.... use multi-page views in this day and age!
Jeffrey Todd
3:33
It's all good, Timmy. I didn't see it either!

Why isnt Severino that good? wicked stuff, young, super hard to hit, lots of K's and throws harder than any other SPer?
Jeffrey Todd
3:34
He's probably not sub-3.00 ERA expectation good. That's all.

JDM will sign with _____ for _______
Jeffrey Todd
3:35
Red Sox, 6/130
I'm sticking with my number from a few weeks back. I think both sides have incentive to meet in the middle here.

You're only 34?  Why should I trust anyone so young to know anything?
Jeffrey Todd
3:36
You hear that world? I'm still youthful!

Do the Brewers have a realistic way to pry Jon Gray from the Rockies and what do you think it would take?
Jeffrey Todd
3:37
Zero chance.

Who should the orioles have more faith in being a solid #5 starter. Miguel Castro, Mike Wright, nester Cortes, or someone not yet in the organization
Jeffrey Todd
3:38
If you are talking Castro/Wright/similar pitchers, the answer is nobody. They will just sort of pick one  to open the season and get what they can out of a group. But whatever you may think about one of those guys' talent-wise, there's nothing in the recent track record to really suggest they are capable of giving thirty quality starts.
3:39
Not saying it can't happen, just ... no team is going to count on it. So if that's who they have for a rotation spot, the assumption is or should be that they'll be rotating through some arms as the season goes on.

Didi is a hell of a lot better than segura! You heard it here first. Is no one creative enough to find a different comp?
Jeffrey Todd
3:40
I'm talking about the contract, fact they both play SS, and general quality of play. Not comparing them as players, really, at all beyond the position.
3:41
Both are good but non-star, young but not freakishly so, 4+ arb class shortstops. (That is Segura was last year, Didi is this year on the service time.)
send him to detroit
3:41
wait, are you serious or baiting...? what would that deal look like yanks 50% cash plus maybe frazer to get back....??
Jeffrey Todd
3:42
Was just joking b/c of the question that poked fun at all the Ellsbury scenarios.
Okay folks, I do have to run. Thanks as always!
Maybe next week we'll be digesting all the signings? Maybe? We'll see!
