Early on it was reported the rockies offered me a large sum.  Should I go back with my tail between my legs to them and take less than original offer to set up for my old set up guy wade davis? (the world comes full circle)
Jeffrey Todd

Think that ship has sailed. If the Rox spend more it ought to be in another area.
Michael walter

Colon could be The Marlins number 1 starter. That dude can pitch.
Jeffrey Todd
3:37
Honestly I could get behind a scenario where the Marlins promise Bartolo like 5 mil for the entire rest of his career, and he just sort of keeps pitching until he's 50.

3:38
When will the Indians committ to transitioning Salazar to the bullpen especially with Allen and Miller likely moving on elsewhere next year?
Jeffrey Todd
3:39
Still not a decision they have to make. I expect he'll rehab as a starter and they'll make a call on immediate steps when they have to.
Todd
3:39
Have how cheap the free agents are made the trade market equally as barren? Example: does Andrew Miller get the same return in this market?
Jeffrey Todd
3:40
The summer trade market is largely distinct. You need a certain guy right now and there are limited ways to get him.
That's why a few months of Aroldis Chapman returned one of the game's very best prospects.
3:41
Speaking of which ... has anyone else wondered whether the Cubs could/should have instead sent that package for Miller?
Dave dombrowski
3:41
Does the pomeranz injury get me to make a move on a guy like Cobb?
Jeffrey Todd
3:42
Indications are it's minor. You go into camp expecting at least a few nicks and bumps. If you lose a guy for the year, then maybe you have to scramble a backup plan. In this case, you can argue the Red Sox could use more depth, but it's hard to just keep adding MLB caliber starters if you don't have rotation spots for all of them.

Cargo back to the Rockies looking more and more likely?
Jeffrey Todd
3:43
Just doesn't seem like a go fit to me. They are over-loaded with lefties as is. Need a righty bat capable of playing first.
3:44
*good fit
Hi
3:46
Can you please explain the details of the Rays' 4-man rotation?
Jeffrey Todd
3:47
As I understand it, they just intend to have a bullpen day instead of a fifth starter's spot. They figure they have enough multi-inning pitchers in the pen to do it. Rather than picking between them to become the starter, they'll just run a line of pitchers out for 2-3 innings each.
Honestly, it's interesting and fits with many recent developments in pitcher usage.

Why do peanuts always taste better at the ballpark?
Jeffrey Todd
3:49
Because you have something to watch while you eat them and can just throw the shells on the ground.
Michael
3:50
Does Zach Davies' oblique strain force the Brewers to pull the trigger on one of the remaining free agent pitchers?  Those can be tricky injuries..
Jeffrey Todd
3:51
Same as Gregerson, generally, but yeah, the oblique is always a finicky beast. I am still of the belief they ought to add another starter regardless.
You could say the same for others, of course, including Twins, Phillies, Orioles, Nationals.
Which perhaps is why there's still some hope of good money for the remaining guys.
Huh?
3:54
Gomez 1 yr/4 mil; Bruce 3 yrs/39 mil. Huh?
Jeffrey Todd
3:55
Yeah .... to those who lauded the Mets for waiting out the market on Bruce, umm ....
Fact is, we guessed exactly 3/39 for Bruce. Never seemed a bargain. But Gomez at 1/4 is a steal.

3:56
Why did Lance Lynn turn down a 2 yr offer? One would think at this point it not time to be peaky if you want to play right? Sure he may think low ball but as slow its been take what you can get right?
Jeffrey Todd
3:57
Could say that teams should just meet his asking price because, hey, now is the time you're about to put your ballclub on the field for games that count.
Freddy Galvis
3:58
What are the chances I stay in San Diego after 2018?
Jeffrey Todd
3:58
Not particularly good, but you never know.
Dat dude
3:58
Does anyone sign me?
Jeffrey Todd
3:59
You willing to fight for a bench job and go  to Triple-A if you don't win?
JAKE ARRIETA
3:59
BUY or SELL. won’t sign until after June 1.
Jeffrey Todd
3:59
Sell

Vlad Guerrero Jr has 3 hits in his 1st MLB Spring Training game today. Bo Bichette has 2 hits in his 1st game as well. These guys are the real deal, right?!
Jeffrey Todd
4:00
Yeah, but not because of their first ST game.
Doug W.
4:01
How legit is Happ and do you see him mixing into the lineup for about 500PA's this year?
Jeffrey Todd
4:02
Yeah I expect he'll see plenty of time, at least 400 if not more -- depending upon a whole host of factors.
Jake Arrieta
4:02
Should I just retire at this point?
