Seems like one of the hotter GM seats around the game.
4:08
Actually I'll call it the hottest.
Adam A.
4:08
Do you think that Greg Holland was cheated out of more money? When will he be able to play?
Jeffrey Todd
4:08
Cheated? No.
4:09
Maybe 3 weeks?
Rox
4:09
Over under 87 wins for the Rockies?
Jeffrey Todd
4:10
Y'all are putting the lines right in the range I would. I'd go a smidge lower in this case though. I'll take 85.

Man I remember when the O's signed him. We were so excited. Sigh.

Royals lose 100 - over or under?
Jeffrey Todd
4:11
Under. But they aren't going to be a real contender, I don't think.

How many games do you think AGon plays at first this year for the Mets?
Jeffrey Todd

67
That Girl
4:12
I’m surprised.  Don’t you think the Reds have improved at all?
Jeffrey Todd
4:13
Where, though? The pitching staff is still full of question marks. It can't be as bad as it has been, but looks about as poor as any in baseball. They lost Cozart and are pretty much unchanged otherwise on the position player side. Maybe Senzel gives a mid-season boost, but you could say the same of other teams and their top prospects.

If the White Sox get off to a miserable start do they trade Garcia and Abreu before the trading deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
4:15
I don't think the record will matter much. It'll be a question of whether those guys perform/are healthy, combined with the team's ongoing assessment of its talent and timeline.
Ryan Todd
4:15
Do you have a favorite team? How does that work as a sports writer?
Jeffrey Todd
4:16
I have most recently followed the Nationals most closely. I think most folks that are generally responsible for paying attention to all the teams have one or several they watch the most or are most familiar with. But I don't think it influences how I write about them.
4:17
Fact is, when you spend all day every day paying attention to the game, you aren't as interested in it from the rooting fan perspective. At least for me.
Okay folks, I'm going to take a few more and wrap this up.

Mets Over/Under 84?
Jeffrey Todd
4:19
I'm a shade more bullish since the pitching staff made it through spring largely unscathed.
Dodgers
4:19
Since were playing, over/under for the Dodgers 95 wins
Jeffrey Todd
4:19
Right there.

Are you concerned with Carlos Martinez? I watched him pitch today and it seems like his mind isn't all there. His stuff is impressive, but lacks the control and mindset to become a Cy Young caliber starter. Do you agree? Is there a way to fix it?
Jeffrey Todd
4:19
Read Bernie Miklasz on this. This whole tired line of argument is crazy to me. The guy has been excellent.
4:20
I didn't watch him today, but man, he doesn't deserve this level of scrutiny when he's been a consistent stud.

CJ Cron becomes an All-Star?
Jeffrey Todd
4:20
That would be ... surprising.
Buddy
4:21
Stanton homered already.
Jeffrey Todd
4:21
He'll do that from time to time.
Carlos Martinez
4:21
My control could be better.
Jeffrey Todd
4:21
We could all stand to improve here or there.
4:22
Okay all, I need to jet. There are so many live tweets to read (ugh). Hope you all enjoy the rest of Opening Day!
