Don't pick a scrappy little dude who made it to the majors on grit.
Give me someone who has a lot to lose by getting injured in a silly fight and is too lumbering to easily grab and pummel. Aaron Judge. I'll dive into his legs and roll around until the fight is broken up.

As talented as Machado is, he has a career OBP around .320 and put up .310 last year.  If he has a similar season this year, couldn't 300M be better spent?
Jeffrey Todd
4:32
He probably needs to show more this year than Harper does to reach that earning range, yeah.
Go Go Juice

Has anyone ever called you J-Todd and would you slap them if they did?
Jeffrey Todd
4:33
Have heard that plenty, and lots of others. Never have slapped someone for such a transgression.
Optimistic Ranger fan

So you're saying the Rangers still have a chance?
Jeffrey Todd
4:34
At least one in a million.
(We're doing Dumb and Dumber references at this stage of the chat, right?)

Will we ever see a pitcher throw even 250 innings in a season ever again?
Jeffrey Todd
4:35
Probably not, unless somebody decides to do it for novelty reasons with an older workhorse type.

Cowart has a broken foot
Jeffrey Todd
4:35
Like I hinted, he had to be put down.
4:36
(Just joking around here ... he is still only 25 so not a bad chance at all that we'll see him in the majors again at some point.)
Jon

How many errors will I make at softball tonight???
Jeffrey Todd
4:36
Depends how soon your friends finally get tired of it and send you out with Cowart.

On one of these chats Machado was projected to return two top 100 type prospects.  Is half a year of Machado really worth as much as 3.5 years of Quintana?
Jeffrey Todd

Remember what Aroldis brought back? It's all about demand and what one needy team is willing to do.

I once saw Carlos Zambrano Punch a hole in a wood fence and use the piece of broken wood to beat someone

Nice.

If you miss Judges legs as he side steps you, you are a very easy target laying on the ground under a very large and mad man. I don't think it's a good idea to be on the bottom of the pile anyways. I would rethink that choice. Just sayin

Look up the Dazed and Confused scene where Adam Goldberg's character gets in a fight.
4:40
"Look, man, I got it all planned out. Most fights in places like this never get past a punch or two before they're broken up, know what I'm saying? There's almost a natural instinct not to upset the herd. So all I have to do is get in one good punch, play defense and wait."
Okay we have gone too far afield here!
I'm going to end it.
Thanks everyone. Here's to a day of baseball without fighting!
