No specific names, but some guys who could be available include Alex Colome, Sergio Romo, Jake Diekman, Shane Greene, Zach Britton, Darren O'Day, Brad Brach, Kelvin Herrera, Nate Jones, Brad Hand, Craig Stammen, Brad Ziegler, and Raisel Iglesias.

Do you think eloy jimenez will arrive in Chicago this year. he is an al only dynasty stash.
Tim Dierkes
2:15
I think we see Eloy before September, yes.  Will be fun to get him and Moncada in the same lineup.
Shohei Ohtani

Am I a professional athlete or a porcelain doll and can somebody explain the difference to Mike Scioscia?
Tim Dierkes
2:17
I don't think that's fair.  I think it's appropriate to handle him with kid gloves in his first few months in MLB.  He's 23 years old and of immense value to the team.  You push him on a mild ankle sprain and next thing you know, he's out a month.

In fantasy, what should I do with Chris Archer and Sonny Gray. Both are really struggling
Tim Dierkes
2:17
Hold Archer, dump Gray.
Is Miles Mikolas available?  Gotta love the Lizard King.

How long before Colome gets bumped frrom the 9th inning?
Tim Dierkes
2:19
He was on a fairly decent run prior to yesterday.  Jose Alvarado has been excellent but I don't think it's time to make a switch yet.

What are the Yankees going to do to spend their payroll and improve the team? Realistically, are there any salary dumps they can pick up at the deadline?
Tim Dierkes
2:21
There are always salary dumps.  Guys like Hamels, Ian Kennedy, and Homer Bailey can be had without giving up notable prospects.
Christian
2:21
Is Jon Gray worth keeping on my fantasy team or is he a guy that just needs to be benched when pitching at home?
Tim Dierkes
2:21
I have moved on from Gray in fantasy, after trying him many times.  I understand the flashes of brilliance, but the Rockies are just a bad source for fantasy SPs.

After all thats happened the Giants are at 500. Do you see them trending up or down the rest of the way?
Tim Dierkes
2:23
They are in that mix with the Brewers, Pirates, Rockies, Braves, and Phillies: a chance at sneaking into the second WC, but not the favorite.  Getting Bumgarner back, and getting more from Cutch suggests they will trend up from a .500 record.

Which players who have come out of nowhere to start off the season do you think are legitimate breakout candidates who will continue having success?
Tim Dierkes
2:24
Mitch Haniger and Patrick Corbin look like legitimate breakouts to me.
Jeff
2:25
What do you think the market for Jose Abreu will look like in a few months with the Sox, as expected, falling way out of it early?
Tim Dierkes
2:26
Pretty tame market.  He could make sense for a team like the Indians or Mets, but I don't think teams are going nuts for this type of player these days.

Phillies seem to always be giving the braves a big f-u. Starting Kingery in majors while Acuña is sent down, signing Arrieta instead of getting McCarthy, Signing Carlos Santana instead of looking at in house options(braves never got 3B). Do you like the rivalry being renewed on and off the field?
Tim Dierkes
2:27
I don't think anything the Phillies did was in response to the Braves.  They only started Kingery in the Majors because they convinced him to sign that contract, not because they were trying to show the Braves they were less corporate about promising rookies.  But the Phils were definitely more aggressive in the winter, and I do think the Braves should have done more just in case things started to come together as they have so far.

You're GM of the Reds for a week. (sorry!)  With free reign, what would be three moves you would make?
Tim Dierkes
2:30
Whew...change the locks so the only front office can't get back in?  Haha...I'd call up Senzel if healthy, I'd can Riggs, and I'd make sure Billy Hamilton completely stops batting leadoff (as he did yesterday).

If Cueto has a lights out first half, what is his trade value with the amount of money left on his deal?
Tim Dierkes
2:32
The problem is this assumes everything else went so terribly that on July 31 the Giants have no real playoff shot.  I don't expect that to be true.  $21MM a year is hard to fit into most team's midseason payrolls, and he is 32, so if they were to trade him I think they'd want to include some cash to improve the prospect return.

I've been an MLBTR follower since the daily rumor mill involved Jake Peavy and Cliff Lee. I appreciate the evolution to more fact-based content and eschewing from fake news, but sometimes we just want some juicy trade rumors and don't care if it's from an anonymous "insider"!
Tim Dierkes
2:33
I get that, but most any trade rumor you'd be seeing on April 30 would basically be fabrication.  If our writers don't believe something, I don't want them to trumpet it on the site and misinform people.  Naturally there are certain months where the hot stove is barely lit.

Who could the Rockies target to fix this lineup?
Tim Dierkes
2:37
Assuming the Rockies are in the race about 2.5 months from now, Jose Abreu would be a fine target and someone they've seemingly had continual interest in.  Wilson Ramos and Adam Jones could be some ideas?
Thing is I'm not sure an Adam Jones type moves the needle.

You said some teams might make a play for BUNDY.  Do you think he should command a return similar to Manny?
Tim Dierkes
2:38
If they were to offer up 3.5 years of a budding ace, I would expect a bigger return than what two months of Machado could bring.
Stoobins
2:38
Fantasy question: Do I hold onto Mitch Haniger or trade him now?
Tim Dierkes
2:39
I'm holding.  In my experience, selling high in fantasy usually doesn't work.  And this is anecdotal, but I was browsing the hot starts from April 2017 and most of them held up for the rest of the season.

If Steven matz was a moving box, would it be labeled fragile?
Tim Dierkes
2:40
I don't like insulting guys for getting injured, but...you can't count on Matz for 25+ starts.

What's your thoughts on the season length? I think 162 would be just fine if 1) move to a 26 or 27 man roster 2) season starts in mid April and play Sunday double headers. I would like to hear your thoughts.
Tim Dierkes
2:42
I prefer the status quo because it's been in place my entire life, and I'd hate to see some of MLB's powerful numbers such as 61 home runs messed with by lopping eight games off the schedule.  That said, I'd get over it, and outside of Opening Day, fans do not want to attend baseball games in early April.  Teams will complain if you lop off those games, by they had to be the lowest revenue games already.
