I guess I was asking for those poll results.

ESPN had a poll on if Molina was a HOF first ballot, eventually, or not at all. What is ur pick?
Tim Dierkes
2:17
I'm a Cubs fan.  I have to recuse myself from that question.

When does the Orioles fire sale begin and do you see Duquette getting fired?
Tim Dierkes
2:18
Logically, Duquette should get canned this month.  You have to rebuild, and you want your long-term GM in place making such crucial decisions.  And I don't think he's that person.
2:19
Can you trade Manny in May?  Sure, stranger things have happened, but the best ROI is probably just waiting until June and more likely July.
Brian

Is there a realistic trade option at C for the Mets and if so, what are they doing?
Tim Dierkes
2:20
Wilson Ramos, Robinson Chirinos, and James McCann should be available.  Particularly Ramos.  Again, early May trades of significant players are rare.

Why do you think Bartolo Colon gets a "pass" from fans for being a steroid user, whereas guys like Palmeiro, Canseco, Braun, A-rod are vilified?
Tim Dierkes
2:21
Yeah, fans are pretty inconsistent about who they vilify.  Nelson Cruz doesn't seem to take much heat for it either, and I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of guys.  I guess A-Rod and Braun were kind of brazen about it though.
2:22
Braun should have maybe shed a few tears at a press conference.

I know it's a bit early for trade talk, but does Ian Happ have any trade value?  I don't see how he has any value to the Cubs lineup if he keeps striking out at the rate he's going.  Maybe the power potential plays for another team and the Cubs can get a more useful piece for their lineup.
Tim Dierkes
2:24
It's been a step back in these 86 PA, and with a 45% K rate you do start thinking about a trip to Triple-A.  I think he would still be of significant interest to rebuilding teams as a guy with a ton of team control who is still probably an above average big leaguer right now.

Lackey or Harvey to the Angels?
Tim Dierkes

This is just begging for a poll.
Game 7 of the WS. Who do you start?

John Lackey (70.4% | 95 votes)

Matt Harvey (29.6% | 40 votes)

Do I clear waivers and become a free agent or will the Mets find a taker for my contract?
Tim Dierkes
2:25
I think Harvey will end up as a free agent.
Marc Downs

You don't think the Mariners have a shot?
Tim Dierkes
2:26
I do think they have a shot.  They seem more in that Twins-A's range - could make a run at the second WC, but if I was a betting man I'd take the Angels.

How far out of contention do we need to be before I start packing for Boston or Cleveland?
Tim Dierkes
2:27
I think like a 1% playoff chances situation, which I do not picture happening between now and July 31.  I'm gonna say it right now, I expect the Dodgers to make the playoffs this year.

Any recent Machado trade comps? I know Price pitches, but he only yielded 1 top ~25 overall prospect (Norris) who was having a pretty terrible year at the time.
Tim Dierkes
2:29
I generally go back to the Aroldis Chapman trade.  I know Machado can probably make a bigger impact, but that's probably your max headliner for 2-3 months of a player.
2:30
I'd pretty much cross off the top 15 prospects right now.
There is a giant wasp-type thing in my office.  I'm going to end the chat on that note and attempt to handle this.
