Drop some questions and we'll get moving shortly!
Crazy cubs thought
3:07
Any chance that the Cubs go in for a starter like Snydergaard?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Don't have the chips for that unless they give up significant talent from MLB roster. So, no, not really.
Ben
3:08
Scooter a good fit with Pedey being injuried? We really don’t know what’s going to happen with him.
Jeffrey Todd
3:08
I mean, in some ways you can see that. Lefty bat makes sense I suppose. But I just don't know if theyre going to give up enough to motivate the Reds, esp w the Reds now playing much better ball.
Tyler
3:09
If the Reds do end up dealing Raisel Iglesias would it be reasonable to think that they could receive a prospect that's the caliber of a Kyle Tucker or Forrest Whitley?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
They might hold out for that, but it's tough to give a potential high-quality regular or starter for a reliever, however good.
Stros Fan
3:10
There any interest from the Stros on Realmuto now that McCann is sidelined? What's the asking price?
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
I'm sure there is, regardless of McCann's situation really. Any uncertainty with the knee might make it a bit more pressing, but they probably will mostly value him about the same. Real key here for the Stros is that they have little in the way of needs, but need to be sure they don't get hung out to dry with the catching. If it's not JTR, they seem like a likely candidate to go after at least a decent rental catcher.
Asking price on Realmuto, of course, is going to be wild.
Kohl
3:13
Do you think Machado has a chance to end up in LA
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
A chance, yes, but it's not my favorite fit honestly. They probably prefer Taylor's glove at short. And if they are willing to give up young talent and/or take on salary, could arguably have greater impact on the pitching side.
Their bats are just absurd right now ... Forsythe hasn't been hitting, but it almost doesnt matter when you have Babe Ruth masquerading around in a Muncy jersey.
Stl
3:15
Buying or selling?
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
Light buyer. Same for the Giants. That's my best guess at this point.
John
3:16
Any chance the Nationals become sellers at the deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
3:17
Would have to be further out of it than this to consider. And who would they sell? Harper? So hard to imagine that, but I guess if they were just totally buried. Herrera, certainly, could be re-flipped. But they aren't in an all-or-nothing situation this year, so barring a total collapse they can probably just back off on any other rental additions and hope for the best.
3:18
Murphy is the other big FA, but he's certainly not looking like a trade candidate.
Still think Nats will get it going, but the division is going to be close even if they can.

3:19
Would a package of Fried, Gohara, Pache and a 20-30 prospect get one of Syndergaard, deGrom or Fulmer?
Jeffrey Todd
3:19
I don't think so.
Scott
3:20
Any word on a potential deal that almost went down last night for the Braves? Christian Pache and Jean Carlos Enacarnacion both got pulled at the same time with no apparent injuries.
Jeffrey Todd
3:21
Haven't heard anything, but that's interesting if true.
Pache is also a hard guy to figure ... have always been suggestions that the Braves LOVE him, but of course that was also true of Mallex Smith. Pache has finally found some power this year, but the OBP is off a bit.
Angelos
3:22
All these trade offers for Manny, I have to approve one don’t I?
Jeffrey Todd
3:22
Have to.

Andy Martino reporting the Mets are telling teams deGrom and Thor are unavailable(https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/mets-have-moved-past-idea-of-trading-degr...) and are pushing to move Matz  and or Wheeler so are they bluffing in regards to the two aces? If not who is more likely to go Wheeler or Matz?
Jeffrey Todd
3:23
I think all this talk -- Thor is more available! they will listen on both! no no both are unavailable -- is silly. They aren't marketing either pitcher but will certainly listen to offers if another team really wants one or the other.
3:24
I mean, are we really to believe that something has changed in the past week that led the Mets to put them on the table and then take them off, etc? It's just different shading depending upon who's discussing it, I guess, but the net is the same. Neither really likely to move, but I think deGrom is the one who some other teams could really push for and make it tough to say no.
3:25
As for the others ... Wheeler I can see to an extent, but why is he more valuable to another team than the Mets? If they aren't trading deGrom, then they need the other starters next year, too. And is some other team going to go crazy for a guy with his injury history and lack of a real lengthy track record of performance yet this year?
Brian
3:25
Who from the White Sox MLB roster gets moved this month?
Jeffrey Todd
3:25
Soria
3:26
Might be all, though some chance of Abreu, Avi and Yolmer.
Oh, and Avilan.
Not a roster that's exactly bubbling over with obvious deadline chips.
Ross
3:27
Will the A’s be buyers or sellers?
Jeffrey Todd
3:27
Great candidate to hold. Unless they make up a ton of ground on the M's over the next few weeks, it's hard to give up much of value in a low-likelihood chase for a wild card.
3:28
But no reason to bail fully when there's good reason to think Seattle could fall off its pace. Who's there to snatch the WC if that happens? Right now, the A's. Good chance to build momentum for 2019, too.
Lee
3:28
What would Brad Hand cost the Braves?
Jeffrey Todd
3:29
High-quality SP prospects, I'd imagine, would be what they'd be asking for.
