No way ... I forget which reporter recently discussed this, but somebody talked to some execs about the JD Martinez deal last winter. Did it make sense to get some dudes who werent all that exciting vs trying for the pick? Most agreed they'd rather have the upper level prospects.

Diekman is the single most likely guy. Maaaaybe they find someone to take on some of the Choo $$$ - he has obviously been raking - but not many AL buyers and it's questionable whether those that there are would really want him.
Barnette and Martin on the DL  or might be candidates. Kela ... given past issues, will this be a sell-high moment?

I know there are many scenarios to play out and the level to which teams will bid against each other will affect it, but what might an offer from the Yanks look like for Machado?  Does something like Frazier, Drury, Adams get it done?  Too much, too little?

The fact that they could pretty much do that without blinking shows why the Yankees are in some respects the favorite. The pure need just isn't as acute, obviously, but they can do it with the least amount of pain probably.
I want to say that still feels a bit rich for me. Can start to imagine why some package arrangements could make sense with the BAL relievers.

Are they, though? I mean, I get it on some levels, and it's always worth a look at that kind of upgrade. But the only real hole they have is at second (unless you really consider Muncy a candidate to stay there). From a need perspective, could easily fill that in other ways.
