Kudos to Larry for the tilde, which I don't know how to do quickly and easily but should learn.

I also don't know which of these players will be best, though as I think I've stated previously I view Soto as the better bet owing to his insane plate discipline. Though you could argue Acuna's other advantages (glove/baserunning) give him a higher floor in other regards.

Am I done selling at this point? I can't really keep Ervin Santana around at this point, can I? What about Joe Mauer?

Reed and Forsythe seem likelier.

If Erv can show something, he'd be the favorite, but it hasn't been there.

What do the Braves do when RIley is ready next year? they cant sit Johan and what about Swanson how long will his leash be?

I mean, we have no idea what the situation is going to look like. Riley has missed some developmental time now. Really can't assume that they will forego improvement on the left side of the infield, honestly. Could imagine them going many different routes still. Maybe they will just hold pat and wait for Riley to force the situation, but even then, we can't know how they'll resolve it. Could simply be that one of those players bumps into a utility role.

Will the Braves make another move?

I don't know if they are just tapped out, but the situation in the standings justifies further investment. If you are 2 games up in the division at this stage of the season, it's time to extend a bit.
4:12
Of course, that assumes they are able to jockey into position to make a worthwhile move.

Chances of Matt Chapman winning a Gold Glove at 3B?
Jeffrey Todd
4:13
Could be wrong but he seems to be getting lotsa love from the media, so I don't see why not.

When will Nomar Mazara return? It looked like he was really breaking out this year.
Jeffrey Todd

Just activated. Not sure there's anything to suggest a breakout, though.
4:15
I mean, he has certainly been better, but the underlying statistics are pretty danged similar to last year. Just some extra points of batting average/BABIP.

FWIW, I think Cutch is worth a 1 year gamble on a QO. He's been a good leadoff hitter. He leads the Giants in stolen bases, home runs & RBI's and has a .353 OBP.

He's still a good player. But $18MM+ for one year? No thanks.

Tito came out yesterday and said the likelihood of them moving Kip to the OF us very slim, so that would seem to indicate that Donaldson is not on their radar.  They still need an OF in my opinion, but the pickings are slim.  Granderson doesn’t really make sense for them, right?

Or could they get JD and also an outfielder? Kipnis just has not hit for some time now. Can't really let him get in the way of improving.

What would a hypothetical Matt Chapman extension look like right now?

Oh boy. I mean ... he'll be a 1+ service time guy at season's end. Not looking at Super Two. But  he has been unbelievable. Would have to set a new record, right? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/01/extension-records-pre-arbitrati...
