So, so many questions. I am sure yours are very good, I just haven't spotted them.
Wahoo
3:45
Will the Tribe please get an outfielder!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeffrey Todd
3:46
No reason to rush. The division is locked up. They can take their time and make the best move available at month's end (or by a claim before then).

Uncertainty with Darvish going to push Cubs to pick up Hamels option?
Jeffrey Todd
3:47
That will perhaps move the needle a bit, though I think it'll mostly be determined by their assessment of Hamels.
I mostly assume it won't be picked up. But who knows, maybe he'll continue to show a second life.
Buccos

Do you think the Pirates could still deal veterans by 8/31?  The trades they made were as much about the future as the present I think.
Jeffrey Todd
3:49
Yeah, but who? Mercer would be the obvious one, but he's hurt. Hech could be passed on to some other club. Maybe Freese. Most of their other potential August chips are on multi-year deals and just don't seem very likely to be traded.
Bryan
3:49
Gio, Wieters, Zimmerman going anywhere?
Jeffrey Todd
3:50
solid chance / v small chance / virtually no chance
Michael
3:50
More likely this offseason: Giants trade Bumgarner or sign Harper? I want them to be sellers but doubt they will.
Jeffrey Todd
3:50
Latter is more likely. Neither is likely.

the talk seems to be about moving McCutchen but any chance the giants move holland or dyson, seems like there could be an appetite for both and it would give room for a couple of callups in sept.
Jeffrey Todd
3:52
Dyson still has 2 more years of control, so they don't need to and perhaps he's already been claimed/pulled back. Holland will be a FA but they might want the innings and I don't know that he's going to draw any kind of a big return.

With Hoskins being such a poor Left Fielder do you think they will pursue a deal to rid themselves of Santana? They eat a ton of his contract and Hoskins becomes more valuable playing his natural position.
Jeffrey Todd
3:55
Assume we're talking next winter. The Phils will be fascinating to watch. They could just shrug at whiffing on Santana and move whatever of his contract they can. Or keep him and move him into a part-time role. They could deal Odubel, Franco, Hernandez, any of their other young players ... or mostly roll with the same crew. I just have no idea. Will no doubt be driven in some part by what they end up doing in FA. Will be a lot of fun to watch.
Dwight Shrute
3:56
Why wouldn't the Angels try and trade Garret Richards? He has to be worth something.
Jeffrey Todd
3:56
He'll be a free agent.
AJ Preller
3:57
So, when will my team actually be, um, good?
Jeffrey Todd
3:57
I don't know, I kinda lost touch with what they were really planning to do when they signed Hosmer. But there is still a lot of young talent ... just also a lot of it seems flawed at this moment. Still waiting to see what kind of core emerges.
Josh Donaldson
3:58
Will I get moved before deadline for anything Jays don't need salary dump. What about my friends clippard or granderson.
Jeffrey Todd
3:59
Feels more likely at this point that they keep him and hope to issue a QO. They'd probably be fine with him taking it or rejecting it and getting draft comp.

Does tatis jr headline a package to get an ace in the off-season?
Jeffrey Todd
4:00
Can't see how that'd be sensible, personally.
Jeff lunnow
4:01
Do you think we (Astros) should look to the waiver wire to shore up the outfield thru the waiver wire? If so, who are potential fits?
Analytics Guru
4:01
With Springer and Marisnick nursing injuries and considering the fact that they have played the entire season without a regular left fielder, do you think Luhnow will trade for McCutchen.
Jeffrey Todd
4:01
Jeff, your analytics guru has a suggestion.
Darvish
4:01
Could the Darvish deal end up being worse than the Chris Davis deal? At least Davis plays.
Jeffrey Todd
4:01
Davis has -2.3 rWAR over the past two seasons.
4:03
That deal was far worse, even if Darvish never throws another pitch, just bc it was so poor in conception. I can't fathom any other team would've paid anything close to that price. I know the Tigers supposedly entered the discussion, and maybe they'd have been crazy enough to put some big money down, but they were going to use CD in the outfield! They weren't going to pay anywhere near what the O's did, surely.

Bring Pujols back?
Jeffrey Todd
4:04
If you want a version of Jose Martinez that doesn't hit all that well, then sure.
4:05
No offense. Pujols was the man. But ... he's not a very useful MLB player right now.
Alex Gordon
4:05
will i return to my old self like zobrist did this year
Jeffrey Todd
4:06
Zobrist had one down year at the plate. Gordon has been well below average since the start of 2016. But who knows? We all have seen what Markakis has done this year.
Motor City Man
4:07
will the tigers contend next year
Jeffrey Todd
4:07
I don't see how.
Rays
4:08
Speaking of us, who might we target in FA in the offseason? We've never been in this position before.
Jeffrey Todd
4:09
Hard to say on position player side, since they have guys all over the place that they seem to like and have played well. But maybe they end up treating it like the pitching staff ... find good value, flexible players and target them.
4:10
I can definitely imagine them being even more aggressive than usual on the under the radar type of players that won't fit cleanly on lots of other rosters. And risky pitchers would also make sense ... how about Trevor Rosenthal, wooing him with promises of being at least a multi-inning "opener"?
