Depends what he's after. His value is just off the charts. His last deal seemed ... pretty team favorable to me when signed. (I mean that in relation to his service time and such, not just vs a hypothetical free agent value.) But will he do that again?
Might want to wait and see what happens w Halos and whether he can get closer to home.

Has always been an interesting guy, that's why he used to be a popular waiver target. Big groundball numbers. But ... look, there's a reason the Dodgers keep finding these dudes. They spend a lot of money on people that help them save money on players.
A team like the Reds needs to do its best to keep pace with that. Not easy. But it is pretty disappointing that they haven't unearthed more arms over this extended period of pitching misery.

Well, I've been thinking about this actually ... sure, there'd have to be lots of interest in one affordable year of Cervelli. But, the Bucs just traded for a couple years of Archer and Kela. So ... is that contract also not really valuable to them? It would feel incongruous to move him. I guess they could go looking for value in FA, but still. I prefer a hold there, I think.

I guess the Ohtani example helps a bit, but Lorenzen is still more in the prior camp of dudes who you kind of wonder about. Ohtani was raking in Japan's highest league on a near-full-time basis. That's not something Lorenzen has done.
Regardless, I hope he gets more shots to hit, just b/c it's fun.

One side of Harper Free agency I think nobody mentions... Nats have a CRAZY lineup next year, even without him. I think it´s not far fetched that, with a couple of additions, they win at least the pennant and Harper gets the bad luck player label
