I think it's pretty high. He has been really, really good. Health is a concern, but he's also pretty dang cheap and reasonably young.
4:24
And I still have my doubts as to what it'll take to get one of the Indians' pitchers. Maybe the prices will be too high. Regardless seems likely CLE will only deal one, if any. So ... Paxton could command a lot given that the alternative is bigger financial risk on mostly lesser arms via FA.

4:26
What kind of return could a Franmil Reyes or hunter renfroe get?
Jeffrey Todd
4:26
I really don't foresee a ton of interest, honestly.
4:27
Going to grab a couple more and then I have to run ...

4:27
Hypothetically which Mariner would probably be next to be traded by DiPoto?
Jeffrey Todd
4:27
Colome would make sense to me.
Eddie
4:28
Okay man I get it you're popular and you have so many questions to answer, but dude I have been in your last 5 live chats, and asked several questions each time and not once have you answered them. Do you just not enjoy talking about the yankees? or just not choosing to answer my questions? you suck at this dude.
Jeffrey Todd
4:28
I'm not that popular, but the site is. Sorry, Eddie, this is the only one I saw. But... there are waaaaay too many people and questions for me even to try to get to everyone, if I had a way of doing so.

Did your children get any candy on Halloween?  You strike me as the type that would give their kids lettuce, books, calculators, and other nerd crap instead of letting them be kids on Halloween... dork.
Jeffrey Todd
4:30
Yeah I would, it's true, but I give in and let them get candy.

is peter alonso the future first basemen of the mets or a trade chip to the AL so he can DH.
Jeffrey Todd
4:30
All signs are they want him to be the guy in NY and will give him the chance to do so. I get the defensive concerns, but other teams are aware of them as well. A DH change can be a future consideration if needed.

4:31
What do you think about Goldschmidt to Houston?
Jeffrey Todd
4:31
I like it.
Think the 'Stros should be looking at the best way to get a monster bat on that roster, b/c it would fit.
Steven
4:31
My small market wish list for the Reds: sign Eovaldi, trade for Sonny Gray.  Reasonable?
Jeffrey Todd
4:32
Don't expect them to stake >10% of their annual payroll on Eovaldi. Could imagine a Gray trade.

4:32
Where do I trade Carlos Martinez to this winter? What should I get in return??
Jeffrey Todd
4:33
Not an opportune time, is it? He's got too high a ceiling to just sell low on.
OMG Brewers in 2019
4:34
Do the Brewers tender Schoop? Keston Hiura is absolutely destroying the fall league, and there's got to be a cheaper option for a half-to-full season.
Jeffrey Todd
4:35
I don't think Hiura is going to influence that decision much, whether or not they think he could be a factor in the near-term. Really, it's down to their assessment of Schoop. I mean... they bought low on him for a reason. It didn't turn around right away, but unless they've learned something new that changed the assessment, it would feel a bit odd to cut bait now. OTOH, can they put that money to better use?

Can we have a chat sometime where it is strictly fan made trade propositions and all you guys do in response is, "hahaha". and at the end you award the most rediculous one by posting it at the top of the website for the rest of the offseason? (very tongue-in-cheek, but honestly sounds real fun to me) :)
Jeffrey Todd
4:36
I've thought about doing a rapid-fire round for the last 20 mins of a chat where I just give immediate reax to trade proposals. Maybe we'll try that soon.
Mike
4:36
How much does Cervelli's injury history/concussions impact his value?  He had a good year with the bat; still is strong defensively and appears to be a solid clubhouse guy.
Jeffrey Todd
4:37
I think it would play in, but on a one-year risk it's probably easy to just look past it and hope for the best. I also don't see the Bucs moving him right now.
Dim Tierkes
4:37
Are you calling BS on the reports of the Indians? I am. That division is awful, they'd be crazy to not go for it.
Jeffrey Todd
4:37
Nobody is suggesting they wouldn't still try to win. Just ... reallocate resources to improve in other areas and make things a bit cheaper/more sustainable.
David
4:38
Alot of "national" guys and sites discount the Cardinals in the Bryce Harper sweepstakes, is it just the perception that the Cardinals don't spend big?  Or am I just bring optimistic in thinking the cards have a shot in signing him?
Jeffrey Todd
4:38
There a be a tendency to say "team x doesn't do that!" when really we mean "this particular GM hasn't happened to do that in the last 4 years," or something. I think they are plausible. They offere big money to Heyward and Price, IIRC.
Concerned White Sox Fan
4:39
Do the White Sox tender Avi Garcia a contract?  Over ~2500 PAs he has a 101 wRC+ and terrible defense.
Jeffrey Todd
4:40
I think they could go either way. If they really believe in the talent, not a huge risk to tender him. But why waste the money with just one arb year left if you look at that track record and consider 2017 something of a fluke?
JBJesus
4:40
Do you see the Red Sox trading Jackie Bradley Jr. or any other controllable younglings?
Jeffrey Todd
4:41
Not really, no.
Bobby Cox
4:41
What premier free agent do you realistically see my braves signing?
Jeffrey Todd
4:41
I like them for Cutch
Ralph C
4:41
If Baez is the SS traded from the Cubs to the Braves, how is that a horrible idea for the Braves?
Jeffrey Todd
4:41
I assumed we were talking about Russell ... thought that was clear.

Done.
