I'd be surprised if he gets more than 4. But if there are multiple teams on him for that length, it is possible. He is young, at least, so adding a season with less-than-extensive added cost would have some upside.

Now that Bauer has been revealed as the trade chip of choice, should the Tribe keep Salazar as a rotation piece or let him go?

Call me crazy, but someone else would be glad to have Salazar at 5 mil if they don't want him. And a tender wouldn't be a full guarantee. I think they keep him unless they have reason to believe the injury woes are likely too much to overcome.

Not exactly sure how to read this, but Haniger would be a very big piece to market when there are so few appealing corner OFs available via trade. And Segura's contract still looks like a nice asset as well. So I expect it'd be a haul.

I expect they'll add a veteran and let the situation play out in camp and throughout the season. DOn't think we'll see just one guy unless someone earns it.

Geez, just when the Rangers finally develop a closer (Leclerc) that looks like he might be able to hold the job for a few years, the rumors start swirling that they may be interested in trading him. I was hoping they might build around him.

Certainly you would prefer Gerrit Cole before Corbin or any other free agent SP this year. If I’m the Astros I’m focusing on extending him before I even think about pursuing a FA SP.
