Oh maybe that was for the Bochy defender above. Regardless I won't do it. Love my coffee.
Also Todd is cool with me. I like the passion. Just think he perhaps misunderstood my point.

Do you see the Orioles adding any trade bait for July?
Jeffrey Todd
4:25
Cobb and Bundy could turn it around and be of interest ... maybe Mancini ... Givens is the most obvious piece, though, followed by Bleier (if healthy).

Who's your sleeper team to make the postseason this year?
Jeffrey Todd
4:25
I was asked a few months back which of the last-place finishers would make the biggest improvement, and I picked the Padres. So I am still staking a claim to that ... not that I expect them to make the postseason.

what makes you think trout is looking to leave the angels/unhappy in socal
Jeffrey Todd
4:27
I didn't mean to suggest that. I'm saying that I don't know that he'd want to commit to staying now. He's an east coast guy, obviously. (I hear he likes the Eagles?!) He's already rich. Why lock in now, I guess?
That's just all guesswork on my part, I just have a tough time seeing the motivation if even a part of him thinks it might be cool to possibly play elsewhere.

Rockies make the playoffs...and for strength up the middle, they have nobody at catcher, nobody at second, and Ian Desmond in center. What are they thinking?
Jeffrey Todd
4:28
Martin Maldonado is still out there ...
4:30
I think the 2B spot is more justifiable. Some interesting young guys, easy position to re-fill mid-season if there's a need. Really not sure what to think about the Desmond thing, but they are locked into him and obviously think there's something left.  Also they can just roll out 3 lefty bats in the OF when they want. I think the hole at catcher is where I'd focus.

What does an extension for me look like if I signed right now?
Jeffrey Todd
4:31
Who knows? Would be a whole new world. Comps are basically out the window except to estimate arb money.
4:32
Few more and I have to wrap this up ...

If I had to guess Mr. Todd, your favorite teams are Boston, KC, Houston, and SD.  Lot of talk on this chat of those teams...
Jeffrey Todd

Nope
Just what made sense to discuss today

Do I start the season in Fresno for clock reasons?
Jeffrey Todd
4:33
They'd have to hold him down a long time to get a future season back since he was up in '17. I think he's in the bigs if they want him there.
I mean, obviously ... but if they want him on the roster, I don't think service time will get in the way.

There is almost alway an inevitable injury that sidelines or outright eliminates a player for the season. What camp is most worried coming into ST to lose one piece?
Jeffrey Todd
4:34
Dunno, but that is one reason some of these guys are probably resisting settling for a deal. Never know what will happen. That's how Ervin Santana got the qualifying offer price the winter he was hung out to dry.
ATX Halo

Now I see why you rarely take Angels questions.
Jeffrey Todd

That's your takeaway from what I wrote? Interesting.
Not much more to talk about right now for them, far as I can tell. Seems they are tapped out.

What kind of a contract am I looking at? Closer to Davis or Chapman? And where do I end up most likely?
Jeffrey Todd
4:37
Closer to Davis. I have no good sense of where.

With Ohtani expected back for regular season as DH what can the Angels do with Pujols besides regret his contract?
Jeffrey Todd
4:37
Not much : (
4:38
Sorry to end on a sour Angels note. Arte Moreno did say recently he tends to go over budget so maybe there's still hope of a late move?
Okay folks I have to run ... thanks as always.
