Hehehehehehe

Vegetarians will take this opportunity to cripple traditional ballpark food.
Connor Byrne
6:53
Hey, I'll take tofu over a hot dog any day. Come at me...
Old school
6:53
Are you watching any of the replays of past games?
Connor Byrne
6:54
No, just some old highlights on YouTube. I canceled my TV when sports went away. Now I just watch Netflix/Hulu.
Lt Data
6:54
Hot dogs are pretty gross when you actually think about what you’re eating...
Connor Byrne
6:54
They're the worst.

I’ve been reading that pandemic unemployment assistance does allow minor leaguers to apply
Connor Byrne
6:55
If that's true, good. I feel sorry for those guys.
$1000000 question
6:55
If they start the season, what happens with the first positive test for coronavirus? Does that team self-quarantine for 2 weeks?
Connor Byrne
6:56
One of the reasons it's hard to be optimistic about a season happening.
Lt Data
6:57
Can we shout out MLB for generally providing strong streaming content on YouTube during this time?  I’ve enjoyed sitting down in the evening for random Game 7s and All-Star Games with the greats of yesteryear
Connor Byrne
6:57
True. Just watched this a little earlier:
Stay Classy

Do the Rays look to trade Snell sooner rather than later?  I have a feeling they won't deal with Boras...
Connor Byrne
6:59
There's no need to deal with Boras for a while. They just gave Snell 5/50 a year ago.

7:00
has any prospect released really shocked you?
Connor Byrne
7:00
Recently released? No.

They gave Snell $50M, but aren't paying him his money this year.  Kinda screwed he only got $1M last year.
Connor Byrne
7:02
Bad break for Snell and the other players. Not much can be done about it, aside from not taking a further pay cut (which the players obviously don't want to do)
BeldarJConehead
7:02
125 minor leaguers times $1700 per month is $212,500 per month.  Any ownership group that isn't willing to swing that is shameful, cheap, penurious, and downright parsimonious!
Connor Byrne
7:02
No argument here.
Fact Checker
7:03
The players have not agreed to a pay cut. They agreed to not be paid while they don't work. They still want 100% of their prorated salary if games return.
Connor Byrne
7:05
You're right. I meant to say they'd already agreed to prorated salaries, and don't want to lose even more money.

Which sport plays a meaningful game first (of MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL) moving forward, in 2020?  ("None" is an acceptable answer, of course.)
Connor Byrne
7:07
I'm throwing darts while blindfolded, but I'll say the NHL with its goofy 24-team playoff
Remember '94
7:10
Wouldn't owners and players want to play games ASAP?  They have to realize they are swinging at air right now when they could be hitting ratings home runs!
Connor Byrne
7:11
Everyone wants to play, but aside from the money, there's the whole health/safety thing. You're right about ratings, though. People are dying to watch any decent sporting event. I mean, I enjoyed the hell out of that Woods/Manning-Mickelson/Brady golf exhibition last week.
7:12
And tons of people watched it, apparently
Mariner
7:13
Why not do a home run derby while the game is shut down with proceeds going the minor league players?  Would be a solid gesture of support by the players.
Connor Byrne
7:14
I like it.
Lt Data
7:15
What percentage of the way to the Hall of Fame would you say Joey Votto is as of right now?  I’d go at least 80%, myself.
Connor Byrne
7:15
Eighty seems high to me. As much as i've always liked him, he's a 36-yr-old coming off a pretty weak season. He's at 56 fWAR right now, which makes him far from a slam dunk.
7:16
I hope he rebounds and goes on a tear over the next few years, because he's always been a favorite of mine
WillReuter88
7:16
With a shortened season, do the Orioles have a chance to finish above last place?
Connor Byrne
7:17
7:18
They're really bad, but it's pretty hard to predict how a half-season could go. Their chances would improve.
Dombo
7:18
Give us all your best educated prediction on the return of Mlb, what details can be comprised?
Connor Byrne
7:19
Like I said, I think owners/players will eventually work something out, but I'm not a doctor. I can't predict the health side of things.
Mr. Baseball
7:20
Who wins the World Series this year (if there is a season)?
Connor Byrne
7:20
How many heads would explode if the Astros won it? "ANOTHER TAINTED TITLE!!!"-many people

25 yrs of labor peace, then Tony Clark takes over, then problems happen all of a sudden, why?
