Seems worth exploring ... Rockies really need salary relief, though, not just prospects or not-yet-established young MLB pitchers. Imagine they'd really be asking the Braves to put in more from a strict value perspective than Story would be worth over Swanson. And that'd be fair to do.

But it's a tricky spot for the Rox, b/c what do you do next? Feels like they would have to also figure out some way to get $ off the books ... Blackmon would probably be the chief candidate. But that's a tough sell to fans and it'd be hard to get real value back out of him b/c of his age/salary.

I didn't find it to be an overpay. There's always risk but it's a solid price I think. The Giants were willing to pay the guy 17.8 mil for just one season!
