I'd be surprised if they weren't trying to extend Berrios, given all the other Twins extensions over the last year

I have something to say about the AL ROY...and also the AL MVP.
Mark P
9:02
If you play enough, ROY is certainly a possibility.  As to the MVP, uh....
Andrew
9:03
Are the Rangers done, kinda seems like it.
Mark P
9:04
They have too many weak spots at 3B, CF, maybe the bullpen to be "done."

Any comments regarding the White Sox offseason buying spree?
Mark P
9:05
They're made a lot of good acquisitions and will be a greatly improved team.  Not sure if they'll be able to top the Twins/Indians or get a wild card, but South Side fans will get to enjoy some competitive baseball this year

The previous Twins front office never went out of their comfort zone in offering free agents contracts and consequently never added top end talent. Is the new front office different (there's been little evidence of aggressiveness so far)?
Mark P
9:06
According to reports, the Twins have been in on lots of big names, but many of their targets specifically preferred to play elsewhere.  Not much you can do in that case aside from make a massive overpay, which can easily backfire.
Steve Cohen

JT should bet on himself and test free agency.  I got a truckload of $$ for him and Mookie next year.

Over/Under on Blue Jays winning 81 games?

Oops, hit two questions at once.  First, the poll!
Blue Jays, over-under 81 wins?

Under (64% | 833 votes)

Exactly 81 wins (10.1% | 131 votes)

In regards to the Mets question (Cohen is the incoming Mets' owner, btw), I'm not sure we'll necessarily see such a huge and immediate payroll increase when Cohen takes over, which won't fully happen for a few years yet.

With the Reds adding Akiyama... which do you find more likely, The Reds add 1 more outfield bat? Or trade for a SS?.... or both?
Mark P
9:13
Probably a shortstop.  I find it hard to believe that a team planning to contend is prepared to roll out Freddy Galvis as their starting shortstop, or using Senzel at yet another new position.

Will Khris Davis start a new .247 streak?
Mark P
9:14
After hitting .220 last season, Davis should hit .274 this year to balance things out
Ketel Marte
9:15
Am I playing center again this year? Worried about my back...
Mark P
9:16
That seems to be the case at this point, but I'd figure the Snakes will get some kind of veteran CF on board to help lighten Marte's load and give him more 2B time

How long do you see Mike Trout keeping up the numbers he has been?
Mark P
9:17
I'm hoping he keeps this up for a decade, making the GOAT discussion awfully interesting

Hot dogs or hamburger
Mark P
9:18
I'm a big hamburger fan, that is my hands-down choice
No knock on hot dogs, but they can be more hit and miss
Diamondbacks
9:19
Greinke out one door, Bumgarner in the other. When will the smoke and mirrors show end with the Diamondbacks getting serious about the World Series?
Mark P
9:20
I've actually been very impressed with the D'Backs under Mike Hazen, and their ability to stay competitive while shedding some big contracts.  They haven't needed to go the major rebuild route, yet made some necessary adjustments to the roster
Theo
9:21
how about Jason Heyward for Johnny Cueto?
Mark P
9:22
I think Cueto will be better in 2020 than Heyward.  Plus, moving Cueto doesn't help a Giants team that is already thin on pitching
If the Giants did move Cueto, it would be for prospects, not another highly-paid veteran
Cubs fan
9:23
I've been very impressed with what the cross town rival White Sox have done this off season while my beloved Cubs stand pat crying poor. I see the Sox as a wild card team at the very least and they should contend for the AL central. Would I be a bad Cubs fan if I attended more Sox games than Cubs games?
Mark P
9:23
Being a fan of multiple teams in the same city is allowable under the Rules Of Fandom, right?
P.K. Wrigley.
9:25
Does Larry Walker make the hall this year?
Mark P
9:26
It's going to be very tight, based on the Ryan Thibodaux HOF vote tracker.  I really hope Walker makes it, he's more than deserving
Scott
9:26
When do you see Donaldson signing around the super bowl
Mark P
9:27
This year's halftime show is actually going to be Donaldson picking his new team.
9:28
Serious answer: I think he's waiting to see if anyone will actually bite on his reported $110MM asking price.  Or, if the Braves can come up with anything close to the highest bid, since he reportedly would prefer to just stay in Atlanta if the money is reasonable

If the Rockies trade my buddy Nolan, should I start packing my bags as the next step in a rebuild?
