Wel all know Arenado wants out and is just be a ting around the bush....why doesn't MO just pull the trigger for the Cards....slap a decent deal like Carpentar (who will waive his no trade), Oneil (who will never get PT), Knizer (which COL needs a catcher) and  Woodfoed

To be sure, A-Rod wouldn't "own" the Mets.  He and J-Lo have a lot of money between them, but not $3 billion.  

If A-Rod goes get involved, it'll probably be a Jeter-esque situation where he is the public baseball face of an ownership group, and perhaps the team president/CEO

Is positional versatility overrated? If guy can play 3-4 positions with below average defense is that really bringing a lot of value?

Not a bad point.  I wonder how many up-and-coming prospects might have their development hurt by teams that insist on trying them out at multiple positions, rather than just keeping him at one spot.  Trying to break into the big leagues is hard enough without having to juggle several different positions.

Why wouldnt Eppler/Moreno still do the Pederson/Stripking/Pages for Rengifo trade? That was wildly lopsided in the Angels’ favor. Annoyance aside, thats a win.
