Wasn't Boras client Hyun Jin Ryu the Jays' biggest offseason pickup? I'm sure they'll get a Martin deal done.

In your opinion do you think it will be good for the Mets if A-Rod and JLo actually win the bidding war for the Mets? Also how do you think it will look for baseball if a guy like A-Rod submits the winning bid? Will the other owners be angry as well?
Connor Byrne
6:30
I don't see why it would be a problem if the A-Rod/J-Lo team comes up with the necessary funds. I know a lot of people didn't like A-Rod during his playing days, but it seems he has rehabbed his public image quite a bit since then. I'll miss him as a broadcaster if he does take over the Mets.

Who is your under the radar choice to win the WS this year?
Connor Byrne
6:31
Are the Rays under the radar (or raydar? Sorry)?
Mike Oxard
6:31
Giants win total > 35?
Connor Byrne
6:32
35 wins is a lot to ask from that roster. Under.

6:32
So when is the cba up? I believe they were going to extend a year if there was no season, so is it not going to be extended an extra year?
Connor Byrne
6:32
It's still set to expire December 2021

Who ya got winning the Central Divisions this year?

Twins, Reds

Madbum +/- 4.00 ERA?
Connor Byrne
6:34
I'd have definitely said under for 162, but for 60, it could be tough for a pitcher if he has a couple bad starts. I'll stay say under in his case, though.

6:35
Which of the division leaders from last year do you think is least likely to repeat?
Connor Byrne
6:36
I did just pick the Reds to win the NL Central, so I guess the Cardinals. The NL East will be tough for Atlanta w/ 2-3 other good teams there. The Astros have to contend w/ the A's. The Yankees should get a fight from the Rays. Guess you can't rule out Cleveland or even Chicago in the AL Central.

Why do the Rockies insist on blocking prospects! Desmond sitting opened up some PT for interesting young players to get legitimate looks. Nope, sign Matt Kemp ASAP. Why? Why.
Connor Byrne
6:38
You know, I usually disagree with the Rockies' decisions, but I don't mind the Kemp signing with the DH coming. He was a good hitter as recently as 2018. No harm in taking a flyer.

Prior to COVID 19 Cubs had no money to upgrade on players. They just added 50 players for this 2020 season. They have 10 positions still not filled. If they have no money what players are they going to use to fill to 10 vacant ones.
Connor Byrne
6:40
They have money. GM Jed Hoyer explained why they left so many spots empty. For one, it's easier to add players to the pool than subtract them. It also doesn't hurt to have some flexibility during the season.
$/WAR still too damn high!

2020 breakout: Ian Happ
Connor Byrne
6:42
More Cubs. Not a bad pick. He made some legit strides last year. If memory serves, his K rate went way down.

6:42
If Kemp makes sense to the Rockies, why is Puig still unsigned?
Connor Byrne
6:44
Don't know. Asking price? Teams don't want to deal with any headaches (not saying he is one, but there have been issues in the past). He's good enough to have been signed a long time ago. And yeah, Puig > Kemp for sure.

6:45
What are the Red Sox chances of making the playoffs considering the questionable starting rotation?
Connor Byrne
6:46
Their roster's still better than a lot of teams'. I'd say their chances have gone up with a schedule that's 102 games fewer than a typical one.
Dave Roberts
6:47
Does Kenley Jansen finish the year as my closer?
Connor Byrne
6:48
Yeah, unless he continues to decline and someone like Treinen revives his career
Slappy White
6:48
What kind of career do you think Spencer Torkelson will have?
Connor Byrne
6:49
No reason to expect anything but success at the plate. The question is where he'll play. Third? First? Corner outfield?
Kj831
6:49
Has there been any updates on teams traveling to Toronto. Heard no flights into Toronto only buses for all teams.
Connor Byrne
6:51
It's my understanding the Jays are still talking to the Canadian government about this. But if you can't fly into Toronto, I guess you could fly to a nearby US location like Buffalo and then bus to Canada.
Angels Need an Arm
6:51
Do you think Ohtani/Canning pitches past 5 innings this season?
Connor Byrne
6:52
Depends on pitch count, but the Angels have every reason to err on the side of caution in both cases. Those two have had serious arm problems lately & will only have a few weeks to ramp back up in summer camp.

What do you think of Jorge Mateo going to the Padres and taking the second base job? Profar seems to be a bust but the Padres also have Brian Dozier at second unless he DHs
Connor Byrne
6:54
It's a worthwhile move by the Padres, who didn't give up much for a former high-end prospect who's still young. Also, Dozier's not on their initial 60-man roster, so maybe he's not in their plans.

Wouldn’t Lindor look great in Dodger blue, could it still happen?
