Not in the next few weeks. Maybe at the deadline or during the offseason.

I think regular season awards should not happen this year. You thoughts?
Connor Byrne
6:57
I'm on the fence. Everyone's playing under the same schedule length, which is a decent argument for why the awards should stick around this year.
Playoffs?
6:58
How many wins (AL and NL) will it take to get a wild card? (Assuming no changes to playoff schedules)
Connor Byrne
6:58
I'll randomly say 33. First number that came to mind.
That's .550 ball. The Brewers were the "worst" wild-card team last season at .549.

I heard they the Padres are trying Mateo at Center and the Dozier opted out of the season. Can you confirm that?
Connor Byrne
6:59
Haven't heard anything about Dozier in a while.

Puig is a headache but Kemp isn’t?
Connor Byrne
7:00
I didn't call Puig a headache, but some teams may feel that way. As I said, someone should have signed him by now.

Are the Astros lucky or what? No fans to boo them this year and other distractions going on to make people forget
Connor Byrne
7:01
Depends on your perspective. One of the Astros (maybe McCullers, but I'm not totally sure) said he'd rather be booed than play in front of nobody.

How do you think the Padres will fare in a shortened season? Plenty of young talent that won’t get tired out like last year.
Connor Byrne
7:02
I like their chances better in a 60-game season. If memory serves, they were in contention into the early summer last year before things fell apart.
7:03
More realistically, though, it would be nice to see them finish .500 or better for the first time in a long time. Baby steps.

Thoughts on the Mookie trade post Covid? Tough to deal an MVP but 60 games of him vs 6 years of the guys they got?
Connor Byrne
7:05
Not the Dodgers' fault things have turned out this way, and they'll still have a good shot to sign him long term (and he may help them win it all in the meantime). i never did hate the return for the Red Sox. The problem's that an incredibly rich team traded an elite superstar largely because of luxury tax concerns.

Today in Canada Day and what would be free agent day for NHL players. So a little less exciting today in Canada. Will there be baseball played in Toronto this year?
Connor Byrne
7:07
I was thinking today how I miss July 1 NHL free agency. However, at least my Sabres can't do anything ridiculously stupid for once. As for whether the Jays will play at home, no clue. Canadian's GOV's deciding (and happy Canada Day!)

nate Pearson in MLB this season?
Connor Byrne
7:08
Another Jays question. He seemed to be trending that way before spring training 1.0 shut down.
Billy Chapel
7:08
What NL team gets the biggest advantage from adding the DH
Connor Byrne
7:08
The Mets come to mind. The Dodgers are probably up there, as they're so loaded. The Reds can plug in Castellanos there whenever they want.

With 60 games all of a sudden 10 games won could lead the league. A .350 avg is possible. Awards yes, but major * attached.
Connor Byrne
7:09
I don't disagree.

Perhaps I should sign Puig with Judge still a question mark.  Thoughts?
Connor Byrne
7:11
I liked this idea back when the season was supposed to start on time and Judge/Stanton/Hicks were all due to miss quite a bit of games. They're all on track now, though, and Gardner and Tauchman are also in the outfield mix. The Yankees also have guys like Andujar, Voit and Ford looking for at-bats, so there doesn't seem to be room for Puig.

Are no fans a done deal? Is it a team or city option?
Connor Byrne
7:12
Not a done deal, but very unlikely. Last I read, the commissioner's office and local officials will decide.
Trout
7:13
Trout for Johnny Cueto. Who says no?
Connor Byrne
7:13
Not enough for the Giants. Add Adell.
Contending Teams
7:14
Can you think of any good reason any of us would trade anyone worth being on the 60-man this season, seeing as we don't even know if we will have a postseason?
Connor Byrne
7:15
This is a fair question. What if you give up a solid player/package for someone at the deadline and then the league has to shut down in September?
Franklin
7:16
Has The Brewers’ ship sailed?
Connor Byrne
7:16
I think they're worse than they were, but every time I doubted them last season (Woodruff, Yelich injuries, for example), they got off the mat.
Momark
7:17
If things stay as they are (hopefully not) would mlb say no games in a given state?
Connor Byrne
7:18
I'm pretty sure this is on the table. I know one of Houston's main medical officials expressed a great deal of concern over his city's situation/baseball games being played there just last week.
Angels fan
7:18
Hmmm. Not sure Trout and Adell are
Connor Byrne
7:19
Okay. Trout and Adell for Cueto and Samarzidja. Angels fix their rotation!
Guarantee I spelled Shark's name wrong, but oh well
