Should the O's sell high on Mancini now? His value won't be much more than it is now, right?
Connor Byrne
6:23
I wonder if he even has a ton of value now, despite a very good offensive season, a low salary and multiple years of control. The lack of defensive value limits the market.
Robbie Baseball
6:23
You guessed Stroman to the Yankees - where does Giles end up (best guess)?
Connor Byrne
6:23
Total guess: Minnesota. The Twins have been linked to him, and they need bullpen help.

With Peacock out for a month can I squeeze the Astros for Kyle Tucker/Boyd? Castellanos has been hitting great since he stopped sulking, can I get a better return than I did for JD Martinez?
Connor Byrne
6:25
The Astros seem bent on keeping Tucker. GM Jeff Luhnow has said as much recently, for what it's worth. I find it hard to believe Castellanos would net more in a deal than JDM.

Greetings from down under! In the event Mad Bum isnt traded, u think he might accept a QO to avoid a Keuchel type of offseason?
Connor Byrne
6:27
Hey there! No, I think Bumgarner would turn it down in favor of free agency.

Do you believe that on base % means more than someone's BA
Connor Byrne
6:27
Absolutely. OBP includes BA, after all.
Angels fan
6:28
Angels GM Billy Eppler said the Angels will be “buyers” at the deadline. Should I believe him? What kind of deals could they make?
Connor Byrne
6:29
I think Eppler's statement was he was looking for controllable talent, which doesn't make him much different than any other GM. They need SPs, though, that's for sure.

Could Roark net Frazier from Yankees?
Connor Byrne
6:29
The Yankees wouldn't do that.

Do you feel like on base % is more important or slugging %
Connor Byrne
6:30
I think OBP is the king of the triple-splash stats.

Calib Smith for Kyle Tucker?
Connor Byrne
6:31
Smith's a good piece, but the Astros would not make that deal.
Drew Smyly
6:31
What can you expect from me the rest of the year? Did the Phils get lucky or too soon to tell?
Connor Byrne
6:32
Too soon to tell. Every MLB starter is capable of pitching a gem once in a while. Hard to trust Smyly after the disastrous Rangers stint.
Greg Amsinger
6:32
10 days until the deadline... why haven’t we had any moves yet?
Connor Byrne
6:32
Not enough teams have declared themselves sellers yet.

6:33
The Tigers are insane with their asking price on Boyd, right? Despite the peripherals, run prevention is the only thing that matters on the scoreboard.
Connor Byrne
6:34
Front offices don't just look at "run prevention," but if the Tigers want an "established MLB star" for Boyd, good luck with that. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/07/tigers-reportedly-seeking-estab...

Rangers know Sellers?
Connor Byrne
6:35
They probably should be. Minor would net a nice return, and the Rangers should explore deals for some of their other shor-term vets (Pence, to name one). But with a new ballpark opening next year, maybe they'd rather keep Minor and try to push for contention then.
6:36
short-term*
I’m only wondering
6:36
Hey Connor, what’s more likely Khris Davis hitting .247 for the year or the Giants making the playoffs?
Connor Byrne
6:38
Davis should've pushed for an incentive in his extension where if he hits .247, he gets more money. Statcast says his expected batting average is .244, for what it's worth, but he's only at .233 now. That said, I don't think the Giants will make the playoffs (and still expect them to trade some important pieces), so I'll put my $ on Davis.
Jerry Dipoto
6:38
Leake almost had a no hitter, can I trade him now?
Connor Byrne
6:39
(Referring to Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto) - I don't think one start changes things much. Everybody knows what Leake is by now. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reported the other day that interest from other teams just hasn't been there thus far.

Saint Louis. Contender or pretender
Connor Byrne
6:41
I had them as a playoff team entering the season. They're still very much in the hunt, despite so many guys having down seasons. Put me down for contender, but I'm certainly not as enthusiastic as a few months ago. STL needs to address its rotation.
Are the Dodgers the Buffalo Bill
6:41
Or do they finally fix the bullpen?
Connor Byrne
6:42
As a Buffalo Bills fan, I wish they could dominate like the current Dodgers. Anyway, I do think the Dodgers will do something with their bullpen in the coming days. It's kind of a must.

6:42
The Yankees have 3 good options in starting pitchers, T Bauer, R ray and M Stroman. Which one would you choose to participate in a world series?
Connor Byrne
6:43
I think Bauer's the best of the three, so that's my pick.
Maxmilian
6:43
Do you think the Dodgers and Giants would ever make a trade between them?
Connor Byrne
6:44
The Giants have some relievers the Dodgers would surely love to get their hands on. Giants prez Farhan Zaidi was Dodgers prez Andrew Friedman's right-hand man. If both teams think they could benefit from dealing with each other, my guess is they would. The Dodgers have the division locked up anyway.

Can I trade Solar? What would it net me?
