Connor Byrne

Any contender he can regularly DH for would work. Santana's a liability in the field.
Bonnor Cyrne
6:05
Phillies got their ace now?
Connor Byrne
6:06
Jason Vargas will pitch the Phillies to a division title.
(just kidding)
Confused
6:06
The Braves need to go after a closer!  Right??
Connor Byrne
6:06
Any really good high-leverage reliever, be it a closer or setup man. They clearly need help in that area.
Brian Binns
6:07
Diamondbacks move Grienke or Ray?
Connor Byrne
6:07
I think Ray will go. Not Greinke.
Cash Man
6:07
How much does this weeks terrible pitching hurt NYY leverage?
Connor Byrne
6:08
What a horrible week for their starting staff. That said, I don't think it'll have a huge impact. The Yankees have wanted starting help all along.
Trixie
6:09
Do you think the trade deadline should be moved to August 15 to give GMs more time to plan things out?
Connor Byrne
6:09
I like that idea or just going back to two deadlines. This "One True Deadline" on July 31 doesn't do it for me.
Frustrated Angel fan
6:09
Angels set at most positions for next year with lot of kids playing. Can we get Thor in off season or maybe Greinke?
Connor Byrne
6:10
Not sure about either of those guys in specific, but they'll definitely be looking for impact starters.
Jeremy Smith
6:11
Any news on the Cubs Trade front on Castellanos or maybe a Hunter Pence. Need some help vs left handers
Connor Byrne
6:11
They do need help vs. LHPs, but with no DH, I don't really like either of those fits.
Closer Talk
6:11
Most likely to be closing for a new team: Colome or LeClerc?
Connor Byrne
6:12
I'll say Colome because he'd cost less to get & has been the more trustworthy closer this year (though he has benefited from quite a bit of good fortune)
Jkooz36
6:12
You say that Yates makes no sense  for the Mets but that doesn't mean they won't trade for him.
Connor Byrne
6:13
You're right. I shouldn't rule out the Mets surprising us all yet again. But Syndergaard with Yates as the main piece? No way. You trade Syndergaard for youth, not a soon-to-be 33-yr-old with one year of control.
Michael
6:13
Between 5th spot inconsistency and Max's injuries, Nats need a starter now right?
Connor Byrne
6:14
It's certainly something they should look into. It'd be funny if they got Tanner Roark back.
Lunar verLander
6:15
Think the Astros can swing trades for Maldanado, RP, & SP? 2/3?
Connor Byrne
6:15
Not unreasonable to say at least two could happen.
Karan Ashar
6:16
Should Yankees double down and acquire premium relief pitchers if they don't get an ace?
Connor Byrne
6:16
Depends on which relievers they could realistically acquire. They're very unlikely to get an actual ace.
Tommy
6:17
How many of Syndergaard, Bauer, Minor and MadBum get traded?
Connor Byrne
6:17
I'll guess Syndergaard and Minor go, the others stay.
Tyler
6:17
Do the Red Sox get a Diaz deal done without giving up Casas? I'm fine with Dalbec getting dealt but feel Casas has a huge upside and the future uncertainties at 1b for the Sox, would be too much of a risk right now.
Connor Byrne
6:19
Casas won't be ready for another couple years. You never know what will happen at 1B between now and then. I don't think they'll move him for Diaz, though.
Lunar verLander
6:19
If someone told you "The Blue Jays traded Stroman", how many teams would you have guessed before landing on the Mets?
Connor Byrne
6:20
Somewhere in the double digits, probably. But hey, thanks to the Mets for always keeping things interesting.
ski44
6:20
Does Jose Abreu have any trade value for the White Sox?
Connor Byrne
6:21
Probably not very much. He's a pricey 32-year-old pending free agent 1B/DH with a .784 OPS.
Aaron
6:21
If the Twins got Yates, Shane Greene and Matt Boyd they'd get past the Yankees this season. Thad Levine should pull the trigger and send top prospects for them right? Deal would work for both sides. Yates for Kirilloff, Boyd and Greene for Royce Lewis, Larnach and other bottom prospects
Connor Byrne
6:22
Way too much to ask for the Twins to get all three of those guys.
Texas Redleg
6:22
Are the Reds sellers or buyers? What chance do they sign Puig and Wood to extensions?
Connor Byrne
6:23
Buying and selling seems possible. This season's shot, but the Reds want to be a playoff team in 2020. GM Nick Krall has suggested he's open to extending Puig. We'll see with Wood. He's pitched once this year.
Fred
6:23
Does Bo Bichette hit for the Cycle tonight? Or just a grand slam?
Connor Byrne
6:23
I'm also good to need Bichette to catch a fly ball in his hat a la Paul O'Neill in Seinfeld.
