I don't know where Harvey will end up, but I think we can safely discount the Mets as a possibility

7:26
If MLB cancels the season, do you think they will need a Sosa/McGuire situation to revitalize the fan interest? Seems like everything the commissioners office has done recently is to gain/keep fans.
Mark P
7:26
I think fans are going to be so happy to see baseball (or pro sports of any kind) back, it won't be an issue

Clayton Kershaw: Hall of Fame pitcher if he throws 2019 seasons for the rest of his career?
Mark P
7:29
Kershaw's HOF ticket is long since punched, so yeah.

And also, Kershaw had a really good season last year.  Most pitchers would love to have a "down" year by Kershaw's standards

7:31
Are there any career milestones that this could put in jeopardy?  Isn't Pujols close to a doubles record?
Mark P
7:32
Pujols has 661 career doubles, good for seventh on the all-time list.  There was no way he was catching the record (Tris Speaker's 792) anyway, but he had a decent crack at being the fifth player ever with 700+ doubles

Could Shohei Ohtani start opening day for the Angels?
Mark P
7:33
Quite possibly, at this point
Cubs Talk
7:35
Will MLB require all teams to upgrade their stadium for a medical facility plus staff for this season ?
Mark P
7:36
That might be a good idea, or at least upgrading the current medical/first-aid rooms every ballpark already has
Angel Fan
7:37
Am I being too pessimistic in thinking that a young pitcher like Griffin Canning who is already exhibiting UCL problems will be headed for TJ surgery sooner than later?
Mark P
7:37
After the last few years, I don't blame any Angels fan for immediately thinking TOMMY JOHN whenever they hear of a pitching injury
Astros cheated
7:40
Should the commissioner make changes to the Astros cheating penalty since the draft has changed?
Mark P
7:40
I would guess some adjustment would be made, sure
Defense or Offence?
7:41
What’s the most awe-inspiring play you’ve ever seen on a baseball diamond?
Mark P
7:42
In a random Blue Jays game back in 2007, John McDonald made an unreal play that is still probably the best defensive play I've ever seen live.  I wish I remembered the game or situation, since it's somewhat hard to pinpoint as McDonald made so many great plays
Brooklyn
7:43
What kind of price would it take to get the Yankees and Mets to waive their territorial rights?
Mark P
7:43
I'd guess easily into the nine figures
Barney
7:43
Wouldn't a 3rd NYC team have a serious issue attracting fans?  This is especially true as both leagues are already represented.
Mark P
7:44
Lots of people in New York, and I'd imagine quite a few fans who feel priced out by Yankee Stadium ticket costs or are maybe just disenchanted with the Mets.
7:45
Would a third New York team have trouble drawing fans?

Yes (36.8% | 163 votes)

No (63.2% | 280 votes)

Total Votes: 443
I'm not a New Yorker, however, so let's float a poll out there

Do we see top prospect Joey Bart from San Francisco this year ( if there is baseball )

How many hats do you think Jeff Todd owns?
Mark P
7:48
Boy, you work with a guy for years and think you sort of know him.....who knew Jeff had the biggest collection this side of the Mad Hatter?

I'm secretly hoping he starts busting out some Kentucky Derby-style elaborate hats, all with a baseball theme

If Yadier Molina never played another game, is he a Hall of Famer to you?
Mark P
7:50
Off the top of my head, yes.  But that said, I haven't done a deep-dive of Molina's numbers, I'm just going by a general "feels like he should be a HOFer" vibe, which can often lead to mistakes in voting.  (Not that I have an actual vote.)
Empty
7:50
Since everyone involved with MLB is getting paid through this pandemic, wouldn’t you think it would be advantageous to play the games in empty stadiums? With the world at a stand still, baseball could fill the void not just in the U.S., but throughout the world. Could be a win-win
Mark P
7:51
Even with no fans in attendance, you'd still be gathering several hundred people (players, coaches, clubhouse staff, security, medical personnel) together, which makes it an unnecessary risk
Neutral Sites
7:52
There is talk of neutral sites for some games.  What sites might MLB consider?
Mark P
7:53
Warm-weather cities, domed stadiums
Pedro
7:53
Will Lindor  stay in Cleveland
Mark P
7:54
He'll be playing elsewhere by 2022 at the latest
Dan
7:54
Does Albert Pujols mediocre play of the past 7 seasons hurt his HOF chances?
Mark P
7:55
Nope.  He'd already banked the unofficial "at least 10 great seasons" threshold even before he went to Anaheim
Niko
7:55
Does the CBA have language on lost seasons? Specifically what happens to player contracts?
Mark P
7:56
The league technically has the right to suspend all contracts in the event of a national emergency, though they weren't going to take that extreme step.

What money is going to the players, however, was addressed in the recent agreement between the two sides.
