Perhaps not the absolute best, but Sizemore had about a four-year stretch of absolutely elite baseball.
It's really too bad that injuries ruined his career, since Sizemore had a chance to be a truly special player
Clint Frazier
8:16
Any way I’m dealt for Robbie Ray or Matthew Boyd in 2020?
Mark P
8:16
The Yankees won't be dealing Frazier for a rental player like Ray, who is a free agent this winter.

Boyd is probably also unlikely, as I suspect NYY values Frazier's potential higher

Are minor league transactions frozen? If not, why no trades?
Mark P
8:17
Transactions are frozen all across baseball
Better Question
8:18
Could we see expansion come sooner rather then later due to the "loss revenue" that MLB took this year? Would be a good way to inject money back in MLB.
Mark P
8:20
Fangraphs had a piece about this topic not too long ago, and it's an interesting concept as a quick revenue influx.  Finding investors would obviously be a bit trickier due to world finances, however, plus adding two expansion teams would also mean two fewer relocation options for the Rays (or maybe the A's or Diamondbacks)
Bryce Harper
8:20
Can I win an MVP in a shortened season in 2020 finally?
Mark P
8:21
Bryce Harper won the 2015 MVP

Is Colby Rasmus completely out of baseball?
Mark P
8:22
Yes, he retired during the 2018 season

hey when you see the letters MLB, do you say them all (takes a long time and effort) or do you say "melb" (is cool and unique, takes much less time and effort, if a woman hears you say it she is intrigued)?
Mark P
8:24
If it turns out that "the way a guy pronounces an acronym" is the key to a woman's heart, I'll really be kicking myself.
8:26
On a side note, it's interesting that "MLB" (or even Major League Baseball in full) isn't overly widely known by the general public.  It seems like most people refer to baseball as just "baseball," whereas there's much more of a direct link to the NFL as football, NBA as basketball, NHL as hockey.
Noah Syndergaard
8:27
Anyway I’m moved next season for a slugger with a few years of control?
Mark P
8:28
Syndergaard will be back by around June or July of 2021, and even then wouldn't necessarily be in prime form given that TJ patients usually need some time to get back up to speed.

So I doubt another team will be giving up a controllable bat for a few months of a Thor that might not really be Thor
KBO

Which team are you rooting for?
Mark P
8:30
After about five minutes of research, I decided to adopt SK Wyverns as my team.  As fate would have it, a player from my hometown of London, Ontario (Jamie Romak) happens to play for the Wyverns, so it was meant to be.

Of course, the club is now off to a cool 1-4 start, so I'm apparently a massive jinx

Could buffalo be a choice for the Jays or is DUnedin just that much better
Mark P
8:32
Florida has fewer restrictions than New York state, plus I believe the Jays have full control over their Dunedin facility, whereas some kind of arrangement would have to be made with the Buffalo Bisons' owners about stadium use (not that I think that would be a major hurdle at all).
8:33
Plus, if a season stretches into October and November, the Jays will get better weather in Dunedin than they will in Buffalo (though playing in the hot Florida nights in July or August would be rough)

Do you see any plyers opting to play it safe and stay home with their family? Why not if they already have life changing money in the bank.
Mark P
8:34
This will definitely be the case for some players, especially the ones with pre-existing health conditions (or family members with pre-existing health conditions) that would put them at greater risk to COVID-19

8:35
When will the club be allowed to make trades and acquisitions for the season?
The Cubes
8:35
What kind of trade deadline do you see happening?
Mark P
8:36
Let's pretend a July 1 start date happens, with a regular season extending into October.  In that case, I'd guess a trade deadline of maybe around Labor Day weekend?
Prove me wrong
8:37
Without question, the most unbreakable record is....(drum roll please) ....most consecutive no-hitters
Mark P
8:38
Nobody is ever throwing three straight no-nos so you're right, though I could see someone tying Johnny Vander Meer with back-to-back no-hitters.  We've seen a few pitchers come pretty close over the years.

Time to call it for this week's chat.  Thanks to everyone for the questions, and we'll be back next week!
